Yet Another Rumour

Here is something that I heard from a reliable source last night. Lee Barnard is going out on loan this week to Coventry with a guaranteed sale in January. This is where part of the tax money owed is coming from.

I do not post much as I think a lot of what is said on here is just hot air but feel this needs to be posted. Watch this space....................

If that happens we may as well just go into administration because we'd go down either way. You can't just get rid of your only regular goalscorer at the club :stunned:

That would sort of make sense if true. With Barney not signing a new deal might be best way to get out of this mess. I know that will leave us without anyone to score goals but if it keeps us afloat then hey ho.

anyone coming the other way?

Heard this rumour only this morning actually, would make sense i spose, as much as i wouldnt want him to go, if we need to pay our bills, selling barney is one way of making some quick cash.

Been saying this is a possible for weeks (although not the Coventry bit). People just laughed as they said Barney can't go anywhere outwith of the transfer window.
I'd imagine Eastwood might form part of any potential deal even if it's just a loan from Jan 1 until end of the season.

Sending Barnard out while we're under a Transfer Embargo, with no possibility to recall Revell, would be suicide.

But more like an attempt with paracetamol where you might be groggy for a few weeks & will ultimately survive compared to jumping at full pelt off the QE2 bridge which not being able to pay HMRC will be like - no way back...

I played 90 minutes at the weekend for a ****-weak team made up of hungover music fans. I'm pretty sure I could make the bench if called for?

Seeing Freddy taking flack makes me feel sick. Poor *******. Top top quality player and my favourite ever by a mile.

Maybe oneday when we have some cash we can get him back.

Would be a shame to lose Barny, but if he was replaced by Freddy, then it wouldn't bother me too much

Sorry but it would bother me. An in form Barney is currently our top goalscorer at the club, whereas Sir Freddy is very out form and lacking in confidence. I also cannot forget the way he seemingly went off the boil for us almost as soon as he scored "that" goal against Man U in the Carling Cup. I know he is an SUFC legend and I too would love to see him back one day but you can't argue with Barney's record this season and if he goes and Freddy doesn't step up to the plate then where the **** are our goals going to come from?!

Surely this is madness on Coventry's part anyway? No way is Barnard a CCC level striker, certainly not one for a 'big' club like Coventry anyway. Realistically, given his injury record, what is his worth? £150,000 at the very max?

As for sending Eastwood back this way? Just cannot see it happening.
