Yet another goal

Is it just me or are some people on here missing the point on why we sent Gary Hooper out on loan?

Surely the whole purpose of this was to -

a) Give him regular first team football (which he is now getting)
b) Build his confidence up by scoring some goals (which he is now doing)

and

c) Come back to us ready for action and to really try and force his way into the team after suceeding in doing A and B.

Our manager obviously see's something in him to give him another contract and all this loan will have done is help him and hopefully us upon his return

I'd have thought the main reason for sending Hooper out on loan is so that he can improve his all round game and actually contribute on the games where he doesn't score (which is more games than not).

He's got talent, but he is too raw to be playing first team football for us.

Hooper is only gone for a month and it could be an inspired decision by the Management. Whilst he's far from having the complete game that we need from him, his biggest problem is that he's been wasteful in front of goal. Scoring goals is the best way to mask the flaws in anyone's game.

As at Orient, Hoops has proven he can score. Hopefully he comes back in two weeks time when the loan expires and can show us all finally what he can do. Because I certainly feel more confident of him doing the business than I do of Charlie MacDonald.

yep - Hooper needed games which we couldn't afford to give him cos he keeps fluffing chances - so send him away to get some bottle at a lower level and hope he come back with a load more confidence -

Unfortunately with Hooper, he's unlikely to get a run here. He's a talented young player but Tilly seems to run out of patience with him far quicker than certain others, whilst the "fans" here get on his back at the first mistake and his head drops.

I imagine he's thoroughly enjoying playing in front of people who appreciate him, hence the goals.

Totally agree

I think he will can back and fight his way back in the team and be playing fisrt team football

I hope so, I've supported him staunchly since he first came. He's a very skillful player but can't always anticipate what others are doing - especially Gower, hence he doesn't always get in the right place to receive through balls.
