He will be in the top four performing referees at Football League level and therefore a candidate for promotion. I suspect last year's match at Mansfield was not typical.

Unfortunately,Mick ,that is not a recommendation.

Apparently, they are playing in their home kit of blue quarters, due to being the highest finishers out of the two of us, which they are unbeaten in at Wembley, so let's make sure we break that little run!!!!

Seeing as Wycombe's last Wembley appearance was back in 1994, I wouldn't be particularly worried about that stat.

you know, you can worry about cheating players, stats, what colours Wycombe will wear, winning streaks, lucky underpants, who finished highest etc, but at the end of the day, we have to believe we can win the game. After Thursday's performance I believe we can and that team can make our dreams come true, because that is what they want too. We will win regardless of anything, including refs we don't fancy. Saw their semi-final home leg that year against Carlisle. I was working nearby that day and I popped down to get a ticket lunchtime and was served by Martin O'Neill who was helping out in the ticket office !

(I think their other Wembley appearances were in the FA Trophy and previously the FA Amateur Cup - I know they lost to Bishop Auckland there one year)

We should remember that they are not the side that strutted their stuff when they were top. Injuries and the lack of confidence that went with their slide down the league have curtailed them somewhat. I expect an even, spikey contest and may the best team (in yellow) win.

Indeed. And remember they also sold Cowan-Hall and Scowen in January which certainly weakened them compared to the 1st half of the season.

A repeat of the last match wouldn't surprise with us finishing strongly.

Could be so. The crucial thing will be to hold their initial rush which blew Plymouth away in both legs of the semi-final and then finish strongly (as Plymouth did in both legs, but in our case without being two or three goals down before we start our strong finish).

th worrying thing is how we struggled to holt morecambes initial rush on the last day, really was backs against the wall and they scored... Although I think we set out too attack. Surely PB will do it different and tell the lads the main goal Saturday will be don't concede... Which were pretty good at

The original poster, Boggy, has seriously brassed off the Wycombe faithful by posting on here. It seems he/she does this whenever Wycombe are playing an important match. They would now like to do horrible nasty things to Boggy.

I have to say that I have some sympathy with Wycombe fans here. While I can't say I am a fan of their style of play at all, like us they are making do with limited resources and getting the most from what they have - and have made a pretty good job of it this year. I don't think our sneering at them shows us in a particularly good light. Also, I haven't seen too much analysis of our penalty the other night. Having now had the chance to see it on the box, I'd say that "soft" would be the most favourable description, while others may have a darker interpretation. IMO.

End of whining post. Roll on Saturday. While it probably won't be easy, convinced we have the players/the nous/the manager/the multiple formations/whatever it takes to beat them. COYB (or Yellows).

Didn't strike me as that bad during our game earlier in the season. Certainly they'll have to go some to beat Burton in the gamesmanship stakes.

I did find it funny when Burton tweeted about another team (I can't remember who) wasting time!

On the subject of Wycombe, when Binnom-Williams got sent off at their place, the reaction of the fouled player and the whole Wycombe bench, led by Ainsworth, was disgusting. Yes it was a foul, but it did not merit the rolling around or mass appealing from the technical area.
