Pre-Match Thread Wycombe Wanderers V Southend United

Absolutely right....unless Demi feels he’s up to starting at RB.

No chance. He played for the u23s today. They won't let someone coming back from injury play two matches in two days. He'll play Tuesday in the League Cup I expect.

I’ve no idea on the full team, but based on Tuesday night alone the following must start:

Elvis
Lennon
Mantom
Hamilton
Goodship

I would also suggest resting Cox and playing Kelman alongside Goodship...

Odds Checker preview...
Wycombe v Southend - League One
Southend look abysmal this season, and I’m expecting their four-match losing run to extend against a Wycombe side who have thus far impressed me.
Gareth Ainsworth’s men followed-up a good win against MK Dons by securing a creditable draw at Fleetwood on Tuesday, and they’re nicely-priced to beat a Shrimpers outfit who have conceded 10 and scored just once this campaign.
It must be said that Southend have had a fairly tough start, but momentum is so important in football, and currently it all belongs to the Chairboys.

Aren't Wycombe (away) a bogey team of sorts? I don't remember many positive results there. I can see nothing but a spanking on the cards and hopefully a change of management. Bond and co aren't working.

Milligan at centre half would be a disaster imo, feel Akinfenwa would be all over him and win everything

Surely Ndukwu has to start! This is the guy who was described as “The X Factor we’ve been missing” by Bond when signed and he keeps coming on when we’re 2 or 3-0 down and has to watch a full back and a striker play in his position

Oh, and ****ing start Humphrys

I agree with the first part, but not on Humphrys, he was completely anonymous when he came on Tuesday

Would you get motivated when you’re coming on as a forward and you’re 2-0 down?

Start him when the game is level. He scores one of those chances Goodship squandered

Thursday afternoon now and Saturday's must get something match is approaching fast.
I hope the squad and club get over the disappointment of Tuesday by concentrating their minds, body and soul on a win PDQ.
I can't do a poll and don't need one to select my starting line up.

Bish

Elvis, Shaunhessey, Lennon, Ralph

Hammy, Milligan, Mantom

Cox

Hump, Lollipop.

1 nil Blues.

Ha! You call Goodship "Lollipop" too? I've been calling him that since he signed and my mate didnt have a clue what I was on about.

What are the odds on Akinfenwa scoring?

The first time we came across him was on 15 October 2003 when he came on as a sub for Boston as we lost 2-0.

Our team was Flahavan, Stuart, McSweeney, Cort, Jupp, Gower, Smith, Fullarton, Maher, Constantine, Broughton.

The first time he scored against us was for Swansea on 12 Nov 2005 when he and Lee Trundle both scored as we lost 2-1.

We'd changed our side a bit in 2 years.

Griemink, Hunt, Barratt, Edwards, Wilson, Campbell-Rice, Guttridge, Maher, Cole, Eastwood and Goater.

Last season 3 goals against us was his best tally.

Morning nerves for me, especially about team selection.
However, sun is shining, no wind, hot, all good pre season omens.
Ref is a card waver so maybe Hump will get some protection?
I would like to stick to same back four of Elvis, Shaun, Lennon, Ralph ; and try and get some understanding there.
Milligan and Hamilton are nailed on starters, Hyem to add bite?
Hump to start?
Do we go 4 3 3 and have a threat? try Ndukwa? Hutch for free kicks/corners or Mantom?
Cox and Goodship up top(ish) too?
Some speed of feet in Theo or speed in thought with Kelman?
Mr Bond needs to have done his homework, and keep it simple.

Hes come to play football not warm the bench, hes desperate to show what he can do but cant do much in 15 minutes watching the play on the other wing and not being passed to.
Im hoping its me thats the jinx because Ive been to every game thats been a loss but cant make today so fingers crossed. Only trouble is if Southend win then I wont be allowed to come again!

Anyone notice that decent cross that Humprhys couldn't challenge for on Tuesday....If you did you'll know why he hasn't been starting.

He might have half a chance under Bonds total football but if we go back to the tried and completely failed hoof.....Then Hump cant flick it on and even if he did then Cox would not be running, Just like he didn't when Kelman won two good headers at Lincoln.

Cox won't win any headers for Humphrys.....Still you know all this because thats exactly what happened first half v Blackpool.

Crap old game, 1-0 win for the blues with a goodship tap in at the far post after 37 consecutive passes in the 82nd minute.

Cooooooommmmeeee onnnn you blueessssssssssss
