World Darts Championships 2024/25

Smith not looking anywhere near as bulletproof as he was during that 2023 title win. Looks like he's lost the fire a little bit, who can blame him to be fair.

Could be quite an open competition judging on results so far.
Most of the daily matches so far have players averaging between 80 and 100, and anyone can beat anyone. I think you'll see the difference when Humphries and Littler play their opponents next. They can consistently get around the 110 mark, which puts them on a different level. MVG used to be on that level, but is very hit and miss nowadays. He's said recently that his wife and two young kids take priority nowadays, so he doesn't put the hours of practice in that he should.

Of course Humphries and Littler got to be favourites to clean up, with a very strong Gary Anderson (who I'll see play Sunday) in the mix too.

Winning a tournament is one thing, consistently doing it year after year is another. Look at the way Price and Wright have dropped off a cliff. Look at De Decker, major winner, great 2024 yet falls at the first hurdle. Littler is a phenomenon. Can Humphries maintain the levels he’s hit .. let’s hope so as we need someone to challenge LL. I think Anderson, MVG, Cross etc can all beat those 2 on their day but it’s becoming harder.

Are you going there Sunday? At last year's final outside, a couple of my mates cleaned up on the Littler/Humphries half n half scarves. It was my idea as a favour. It made quite a stir on Sky Sports and Talk Sport etc. A lot hate half n half scarves, which is fair enough, as I don't like them myself to be honest, and it caused quite a stir when they turned up at the darts final. My mates didn't care, as they sold out.

Yeah I'm there Sunday only for the evening session though

Third year I've been, going in a Christmas themed suit. It's always a great time and kicks off Christmas for me
Take a Southend themed sign along and try and get a chant of “Sea-Sea-Seasiders” going! Not been for a few years but you’re right it’s a fun thing to do.
