Work to commence on CC Lounge at Roots hall

Doesn't add up the CC is the most recently refurbed bit. The Captains bar or the Blues lounge are more in need of a refurb.

one thing that wouldn't cost them a penny is remove the table and bulky chairs between the brick pillars in the Far Post. They completely block the flow of getting to and from the bar.
CC refurb will be as much about showing off the stadium to potential sponsors/partners than for improving the matchday experience. Stick a boardroom in there and you can easily win business with the entire stadium in the background

Really good news, would love to see the ground offering local beers. LOS brewery is great and if priced well by the club would be popular for both home & away fans.

This new consortium direction so far is taking us in the right direction!
i don`t drink at the club but reading comments on here the club beer is nothing special .as you say getting a local company in sounds like a good thing .don`t know the shelf life of a pint ,so has all the beer been sitting there since the last home game ? i`m sure the new guys would rather our supporters drinking a pint at roots hall rather than filling the local pubs on match days

That is true, wasn't there talk of a marquee in the car park with the local pubs given the chance to take turns in stocking/running at various games.

That would be good.

I am all for the club improving the facilities etc but I'd hate it to financially affect the local pubs who have been very supportive of the fans efforts to get the rat out of the club.

Not sure about the spread, but both Keeley at the Railway, and Michelle at the Boar go to home games and are fans themselves.

I think there's room for both beer tents at the ground AND decent old school supporters pubs. I'd love a drink or 2 before a match, but don't want to take my son to a pub. If there was food and drink in the RH car park I'd get there at least an hour before kick off and spend money. If it was local beer then even better. I'm sure I'm not the only one in that situation.

And after drinking a few pints you would maybe require to use the facilities, and if you are seated in the middle of a block everyone has to shift . And if you wait to half time you miss the start of 2nd half. And the facilities are, literally s hite, at best.
My point, and it isn't that smart, is that any improvement is good but it needs to be thought through.

I get you but the railway has lots of youngsters/kids on a Saturday and is generally pleasant without too much loudness or foul language but no more than you would get at the match itself.

So people have to move not the end of the world

If that's the standard that can be achieved with a bit of proper tarting up, it bodes well. Looks very good. Hoping the toilets get a make over and even a fraction of that standard applied will make it a better place.
We are on to a good thing here... "The D2 East Stand Bogs" etc etc

There is already a separate boardroom for that. The man who used to sit near me withdrew his £20,000 per year sponsorship because of the shockingly poor service he received….. I doubt a refurbed CC will get him back.

The member of staff who let him down has gone so going forward things must improve…. Let’s hope lady’s toilets and the family bar in the West are next….. Otherwise we will start with a them and us scenario.

How about a much needed for fire safety reasons staircase from the door opposite the Far post….. People could then easily use the Shrimpers bar at H/T…. a safety measure that would pay for itself🤔

Does the boardroom overlook the pitch (I genuinely don't know)?

Can you mate be replaced by someone that pays twice as much (I genuinely don't know)?

Do safety measures ever pay for themselves (I do know the answer to that one?

Perhaps you could tell us the answer

Agreed. The west stand bar is horrific.

I've all but given up trying to get a beer in there anymore.
likewise - the queue is often out of the door even before half 2
I'd settle for the first remedial work to be on the Gents toilets in the West, the ones you pass when entering the West Stand. Much as a beer is welcome, the threat of electrocution when it rains when having jimmy is more concerning for me.

You shouldn't be having Jimmy in there. The doors don't lock....

You should leave him alone anyway....

The exit out of there too. Last time there was a deluge i could see the water pouring through a lit, light fitting.

Can't be good
