Work to commence on CC Lounge at Roots hall

Doesn't add up the CC is the most recently refurbed bit. The Captains bar or the Blues lounge are more in need of a refurb.

one thing that wouldn't cost them a penny is remove the table and bulky chairs between the brick pillars in the Far Post. They completely block the flow of getting to and from the bar.

you would assume that the new lounge would be in the East stand, so in theory that should be the south stand in the picture, but it’s not a 2 tier stand.
it looks like the north, but the lounge would have to then be in the west stand.

Just listening to the latest ShrimpersCast that has just come out, they interview Cllr. Matt Dent who gives an update on last weeks meeting. Without burying Ron completely, he says that this consortium are able to move "quickly and decisively" to get things done. Stadium redevelopments could start as soon as the close season. The fact the lounge works are already underway is more evidence of that I guess.

It’s 3 boxes knocked into one. Holds about 35 people and is only being refurbed not extended.

There is very little room to increase non ticket revenue in the East…. If the stand had 2,500 + in it we could barely serve more than 400 at H/T.

That’s why many L1 and 2 clubs with smaller crowds have a better income than SUFC….. Plus they will have had weddings etc all summer so can pay the tax man.

Went in the Centre Circle Lounge in February 2022 for WS Junior's birthday. Burger and chips and draft lager on tap. Was really good and would certainly recommend it. A refurbed area would be even better and would imagine the façade etc used could be removed and repurposed once the East Stand is knocked down as part of the redevelopment of the whole stadia,

With any luck moves will be made to sort out the bar shambles across the rest of the ground soon. Both in terms of offerings and operation (particularly the west bar which is a joke)

I had a beer tasting red letter day at leigh brewery couple of years ago. Was very good and the beers very tasty. Will look forward to even a small selection being stocked in the Groundsmans bar. Can't imagine there would be many left if stocked.
