Wolverhampton Wanderers v Southend United

the way we are leaking goals just reminds me off the last we were in this division. the defence just leaked silly, stupid goals and it is doing it again.

The only thing I can say in defence of that selection is that by all accounts Clarke played well in the two away matches at Leeds so maybe Tilly thought that his deployment in midfield works better away from home. Obviously the reality is different.

Firstly, I am suprised that any of you shocked by the scoreline so far. There won't be a SUFC player out there today that has any interest in today, they are all going to be thinking about Tuesday nights circus event and playing Man U.

Secondly, all the cries of Tilly out are just b******s. If he needs help then someone need to be brought in on the management team to support him and his choices not sack him FFS. I hope all you people crying for Tilsons head get as much support at work when you f%&k up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A successful football team enjoys itself - on and off the pitch - but this doesn't seem to be the case with Southend United this season. What's changed? How has it changed? And how can it be resolved? The three most important questions for Steve Tilson and Paul Brush this evening ...
Well getting beaten week in week and conceding three goals or more a game doesn't help.

Where's the passion and the fight. Where's the captain leading by example and pulling the team together. The centre midfield is shockingly bad and the defence worse. If it's blatently obvious to us then Tilly must see it.

Yeah but we only have two championship quality players, Eastwood and Sodje, the other 9 are league 1 players at best!
Think you can definitely add Maher to that list but I totally agree with the rest there's no way they should be playing at this level

Sorry I don't rate Kev at this level.
Neither do I. Then again I didnt rate him in League One either
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but I think he's suffering because the whole TEAM is suffering at the moment. The first 6 weeks of the season Maher was FAR AND AWAY our best player and that can't be ignored.

I can't listen to the Southend match because I'm at university in Exeter at the moment and don't have Blues World. At the moment though, I'm listening to the Wales v Australia rugby match and, despite having gone behind very early on in the match, they have the resilience and the self belief to pick themselves up. This is something we sorely lack at the moment and if I knew how to solve it, I'd be working in football. All I know is that we can't keep leaking goals and expect to come back from these situations every week.

Yes, but why have we gone from a successful winning team to cannon-fodder in just a few months; what's sparked this sudden collapse in fortune?

I think that's harsh on Maher. He's been our best player so far this season despite the fact he's had a series of shocking players alongside him.

I agree his job shouldn't be in jeopardy but rather than another coach to be brought in to help we need to BRING SOME BLOODY PLAYERS IN WHO ARE BETTER THAN WHAT WE'VE GOT!!! And for the woeful quality in our squad at this moment in time that shouldn't be hard should it!!!!! It doesn't take a genius to work out that with this squad of players we'll be down by February.....

It's a higher level of football and I honestly believe the team is playing a division above itself. If we were back league 1 this year would we even be in the top 6, I'm not sure we would.

In my opinion we simply don't have the quality for this league. If all of our players were playing above themselves week in and week out then we may have a chance, but that clearly isn't happening and confidence is shot, which creates errors of their own.

I really think we are out of depth, like Sunderland in the Prem last year. For us back to back promotions was too much too soon, but I wouldn't swap them, even if we do go down with a whimper.

BINGO!

The answer I was waiting for! We're well above our natural level at the moment and we're simply not coping with a better class of football ...

Winchester Shrimper saw Wolves in the week against Southampton and said Wolves were dire and had no clue.

Yep.

The players aren't good enough at this level. It doesn't matter which combination we try, its always the same result. Momentum took us through the first few weeks of the season, but as soon as that was lost against Cardiff we've looked exactly what we are - a lower league team playing 46 FA Cup 3rd round matches.

I'm not sure whats the more depressing - whats going on on the field right now, or the lack of faith that anything is going to be any different next week or the week after.

The way we are playing, we may aswell have nobody on the pitch, for all the good they are f%&king doing, the useless bunch of w%&kers.

Ron needs to get the chequebook out in Jan...

Anyone will be better than the sh!t we currently have.

I'd honestly say we need 6 or 7 signings/loans or we will be going through the trapdoor before Feb.

Yes but how do you persuade people to come to us who are going to be any better than the players we already have?

I honestly can't really see where the quality is going to come from because with the way we're playing, we're not going to be attractive to either potential players or Premiership / Championship clubs looking to put their players out on loan.
