I would suggest Geoff Horsfield or Kevin Campbell.

The former is not wanted at Sheff U, and the latter will leave the Albion this summer at the end of his contract.  Both are target men with bags of experience and very decent players at Championship level.  Still a season left for Cambell and one or two more than that for Horsfield.
I never thought of Kev Cambpell. Now that would be a good signing for me at this level. I suppose it depends if players are prepared to come here on low wages but big bonuses.
I'm sure I read somewhere he was on £20,000 a week at West Brom!

Be serious!
I thought i heard the average wage in the Championship 1s around £20 k per week ?
Championship stars earn £195,750 a year - Average just under £4,000 a week!

(Premier$hite is £13,000 average)

Patrick Suffo

I hear he is back in the UK after the Swedish season finished.... maybe on the lookout for a club?

he would be the perfect choice.

No chance! he live in Sheffield, we can do better than him.

I would expect loads of trailist who play for Dutch, French & German team train with Southend in their bid to earn an contract & play at Championship level. Who remeber that Serbia defencer (his name slip out of my mind) come to Southend last summer for a trail, I thought he look good agasint Millwall - I wondering what club he play for now?

I don't buy this "we can do better than him" nonsense. Half of you lot were saying we could do better than Jon Parkin in the window. And Lee Bradbury, for that matter.

no where near good enough, we can do a lot better
i love this phrase. "WE CAN DO BETTER"

to be honest i doubt that we can! We have very little pulling power. Granted we got Goater, but that is probably because Martin hassled him so much, and he thought well if he wants me that much.....

Half of the names suggested wouldn't do that! I know everything is speculation and everything. But could people be a touch more realistic?!

I hear that Van Nistelrooy is on his way out at Man Utd.
