To add a marker just zoom in on the town/road you live and in top left there is a marker button. That's how i did it anyway.

Be interesting to know if any more shrimpers are residing in Lincolnshire, im the only person who doesn't support Man U up here I think lol.

I can't work it either - don't see a marker button top left anywhere! Is this maybe because I need to have signed in? So what are the benefits of registering with Google Maps then? I don't think I would want to mark my exact location, as I think I'd be the only one so far apart from Libertine whose house is on Streetview. I couldn't possibly have everyone looking at my house now.

But Adam3811 lives just down the road from where my first Southend-supporting friend used to live. And the last two times I've been to the Walkers Stadium I've parked just down the road from where Moridin lives. Fascinating.

I didn't mark the house or road I live down - I posted a road near it.

Obviously if people don't want their exact location pinpointed that's understandable, so just a general location (maybe the postcode or street).

It's more an idea of how far spread we all are out of general interest than a means to gather in detail info about everyone ;)

Come on people, I really didn't want this to open a whole can of worms as it is just meant as a bit of fun and interest.

As I said before people can be fairly vague about where they live if they want, the map will still serve it's purpose.

I know it's easy for me to say this from the other side of the world (it would have to be a big grudge against my postings for someone to come this far to sort out) but as my place has been photographed for Street View you can actually see exactly where I live on mine.
