I used to go on Shrimpers.net a lot when I was at college and came on here not long after Shrimperzone started in 2001. As Kev said, met a lot of great people on here down the Spread and at games and long may it continue :)
 
Another one from Rivals / Shrimpers.net, which in the main was dross. Heard about SZ and lurked for a while before finally joining up. I've since discovered a few old friends who I had lost touch with over the years. And since made a lot more friendships.

I'm another that's been here almost from the start in 2001. And just like most of the others I was a regular on Shrimpers.net, but defected to here after getting bored of certain antics on there.

8 years of Zone life. Blimey.
 
Joined up on 2001 and was enticed out into the open by minibus trips to away games with random curry house stops on the way back.
 
Again Shrimpers.Net was the frequent but lost interest in that for the same reason as everyone else.

Used to be known as Blueboy and posted alot on rivals...then someone took my name and started abusing people with is so I became Blueboy_Original... Posted on here under that name and as a guest for a few years as I could not be bothered with signing up although that obviosuly had to change.

Have been visiting for as long as I can remember... looking at other sites boards brings back memories of how the forum used to look!!
 
I was on the Yahoo email group and signed up to here either late 2001 or early 2002 (I think) as Ron Manager. Then the whole thing crashed and I couldn't sign back in under that name so signed up again as Libertine.

I already had a good circle of mates through watching Southend but have met many more via this site.
 
I joined in 2003 shortly after the Samaritans stopped taking my calls.

Back then it was all about help and advice and the football was just a sideline.

In was stuck in a rubbish job in 2003 for six months.

I decided to look through the net to see if there was any chat sites about Southend and stumbled across Shrimperzone.

Personally it hasnt changed the people I go to football with but it does mean that I can abuse Ldn Fasto 7 days a week which was got to be a good thing.
 
I didn't know about SZ until I was staying at my brother's in Barcelona ('BarnaBlue') when England played Andorra there last year. I didn't so much lurk as jump in when I got connected up with a computer at home for 'on call' Social Work duties. What started off as a pleasant distraction has turned into a love affair. Didn't Slip once describe SZ as 'the thief of time'? Well, that's very true and I've found myself turning to SZ at many times during the day and night to check what is happening in the 'real world' - the world of the Zone!
 
My pal ' Made in England' told me about the site in 01/02 i think and at the time i joined as anotehr username ' Shrimpermagic ' or something like that .

At the time i had a lot of spare time as worked for my self in Southend so used to go to all the reserve games , believe me i have seen some real Dogshate players pull the shirt on for our ressies , especially in the rob newman era . Carried on watching them and i'm sure i used to harp on about how good Kightly was and that he just needed to bulk up or get some games under his belt .

Obviously changed Username since and have meet some lovely people on here , my fav being the very vangry little scottish man that frequents here , but thankfully not as much as he used to since flaggate !!
 
It was so long ago I can't remember.

On the basis that I haven't lived in Yorkshire since 2002, it's going to have been 2002 at the very latest. I think I already knew the boy Scriv and WS from the Spread through Ninja. The memory is pretty hazy but I seem to recall complaining about Alvin ****ing Martin's management, c1997. I guess that must have been Shrimpersnet though.
