I wanted someone to talk to about Southend and naturally, this was the best place. I haven't met the people on here, but i'm bit a young and i'm certain i saw Smiffy once, or what i thought was him, possibly think i've seen TrueBlue as well. Nice bunch of peeps who are good to have a laugh with, when i'm old enough to go in the pub, i will. :dim:

Trust me - once seen, never forgotten :stunned:

smiffy and trueblue just called me and told me they cant wait.

Drinking with Scriv and Mike in the Spread many moons ago. Still got my original STC tour t-shirt.

I was on ShrimperNet from the late 90s and it was rubbish. Just a load of children swearing at each other and offering each other out. I haven't lived in Essex since 1997, so it used to keep me in touch with goings-on, but I have to say that I was delighted when Matt the Shrimp led me here. A little while later he was kind enough to escort me to The Spread and introduce me to you lot, which was wonderful.

For years, watching Southend had been like masturbating or listening to Radiohead. It was something that I did on my own. All of a sudden, it became fun again. ShrimperZone made me fall in love with my team all over again. Then I got this new job in 2007 and I've been to Roots Hall twice since then.

Migrated from the official Southend United forum when Scriv couldn't be bothered to run it any longer.

Had an account from about 2004 but didn't use it during the off season, forgot my password and then didn't bother using it again for a while so re-registered in 2008 after reading "That Boys A Bit Special" in 442 magazine starring Gary Hooper and his quote that he would be pushing for a place in the England team in 5 years. :D

I had a bad break up in a long term relationship and was lost as what to do with some of my spare time so watched for awhile then took the plunge about 3 years ago.

Lucky for you lot eh!..:cricko:

You have all kept me single ever since, good or bad I don't know, what I will say is the Zone kept me relatively sane in those early days and since then I have made some great friends and feel privileged to not only be an Owner of the Zone these days but to be part of SZFC both of which I am extremely proud of.:)

hurty hand you told me...

I've been here from the days of Mike and Dave and used to post on shrimpers.net under the name of Mark_Rawle, which was also my username when I came on here originally.

shrimpers.net was toilet, and a couple of the posters on there that was decent moved over here and I followed them.

I joined after the OS forum went. Didn't post a whole lot, but then met Cricko and Hutton on one trip over at the Spread, and the old geezer threatened to knick my missus if I didn't become a more prolific poster on the Zone. He pointed a gun at me you know.

So here I am :cricko:

Started posting 08,after much persuasion from my son(derek duvall),there now is'nt a day when i'm not browsing or posting, great fun and met some nice folk, and most importantly everyones a shrimper.

Another "original" and that explains the tediously high post count. Was on Shrimpers.Net and SZ was always being plugged by Dave & Mike and joined on the opening day it was "revealed". Met alot of great people since the introduction of the site and had many great days/evening/nights with said people! Also got involved in SZFC and now basically help run the club!! :D Had it not been for SZ/SZFC - im not so sure how strong my passion for Southend would be. Sooner i go the better then, really! ;)

I have been a member on Football Forums since 2001 and in the earlier years I had my own forums. But anyway, I was told about this place by a guy called Sulliano. He used to be on the original SZ forum but I am not quite sure if he ever made it onto this one. Anyone know Sulliano or whatever happened to him? I had Ricey on the other one but forgot my password and re-signed up as Super Shrimper.
