If your doing cinemas I attache this for you.

Personally I loved the Ritz.

PLAZA for me in Southchurch Road, although the cinema is long gone most of the old building still stands to this very day. You just could not beat the Saturday morning matinee shows back in the early 1950's. My dear old Mum was an usherette there when we lived close by in Canterbury Avenue. Always had a good seat for me and my brother so Mum could keep her beady eyes on us to make sure that we always behaved. (Hmm!! as if we wouldn't)

Ditto for the ones at the old Mascot cinema in London Road, Westcliff, back in the late 50's /early 60's (where I got my first kiss back in the day).:Winking:

Thanks a lot--Fantastic--It makes for very interesting reading as I have never lived in the area.
Thanks also to the other guys for your comments.

But can you remember which cinemas were nice or flea pits?
I love The BFI, Curzon Cinemas, Everyman (pure luxury) and the wonderful Phoenix in East Finchley
