Agree. So many have been ground down after the last few years to have a 'happy loser mentality' in my opinion. We are seriously underachieving this season. Playoffs should of been a minimum this season. Sure there's excuses not to challenge for the title as been stated over and over again but this league is woeful in general. Just 3 more wins than loses right now is really really poor!

I did hear rumblings that there were money issues and there wouldn't be any available for the next transfer window.

This is the heart of the matter. COSU bless em, with their hearts, saved the Shrimpers. With their business heads though they'll not throw money at the rebuild. Ultimately this will reflect on the pitch. In my head I still think we are the SUFC pushing along in Div One and we should be there soon. Then I wake up - we are where we are, a goodish NL team which in a few years might be back in Div Two. I hate saying that.

I think one way or another this will happen. Plus Kev is not stupid, he knows there will be more pressure next season. If we are languishing by end of October I think a change will be made. For what it’s worth though, I think Kev will change things considerably and we’ll do well next season.

A chance he deserves after saving the club from absolute national league south oblivion against all odds.

Kid - well you've said it, he's playing kids football - it's a massive step up to men's football. Personally I have no idea if he's good enough, but it's not beyond me to think of a reason why he hasn't been called up to the 1st team squad (yet).

The amount of side foot, powder puff daisy cutter shots players have must be trained into them as they are all at it here.

Just seen Tranmeres 3 from yesterday, all absolute belters. Why have we got no players who can lace it? Why do we fire a thousand crosses into the box when Hopper and Bonne are crap with their head ( and feet ) only time we don't get crosses in is when Bridge plays as it always hits the first man.

We have been terrible to watch this season in its entirety

I bumped into JR a few months ago and asked him when are you sacking Maher! Might of just been after the Wealdstone game, when he described it as a GREAT point!!!! He seemed very confused when I asked the question and appears to love Maher and here for the long term!!

I’m firmly in the Maher IN camp because I strongly believe than an undisprupted preseason and full access to transfers is the least he deserves. However I’m also firmly of the opinion that he needs to deliver at least a comfortable play off berth next season and would expect leadership changes should that not happen (or look likely to happen a few months in).

To have a sustainable club, the playing staff and the management have to come under budget. We’ve done it before where we spent on the team.. and that, along with the shyster in charge ruined the club.
Personally, I don’t want to stay in div5, but if it means we survive, so be it. We just need a few pepples, collymores to fall in our laps.. but look how few and far apart they are.
If the team put a shift in every time and still came up short, so be it. To have a manager with a bit more nouse would be lovely.. but we don’t and probably won’t until Kev gets a) poached, b) bored, c) dies d) sacked or e) a eureka moment.

We might’ve signed better midfielders, we don’t know. For sure, Kev won’t be able to hide behind the embargo next season, nor Cardwell/Kensdale going etc. .. but they’re valid reasons why we started this season poorly. Pearce is a better standard of player than that we were able to sign - surely you agree. Most of York’s team would walk into ours.

I don't think Ollie Pearce was ever a realistic possibility for us, he was always going to head where his ex manager was.

I reckon there is more local clubs than in Div2, only Col ewe would bring down fans and maybe Cambridge but only because of the past, so in terms of sustainable we maybe no worse off, at least we get crowds for play off push , cannot see this if we were in relegation mire or mid table

No way will we be getting 8k if we remain down here, you can half that. More funding for being the league. Greater home and away attendances. Getting out of this league is a necessity for sustainability.
