Question What is making you happy today?

He’s one those smart arses, Cleese who’s now decided that if he’d known for one moment the tv audience were laughing at what Basil said to the German guests in the “Don’t Mention the War” episode of Fawlty Towers and were incapable of understanding he was holding his own character up to ridicule, he would never have written it.

Almost Identical to what Johnny Speight said in later life about the words he put into Alf Garnett’s mouth.

Anyway, as for the former he’s very much a marmite character, or chalk and Cleese if you prefer.

What made me happy today was being invited to an Industry golf day at the Belfry. Not on the Brabazon sadly, but the PGA National and managing not to disgrace myself, scoring 30 points. Just got in.....

I'm still buzzing from the show. He's a very funny man with a nice line in black humour (sorry wokes).I've been a fan since I'm sorry I'll read that again BBC radio days. You're right he did have a lot of funny strories to tell about the Pythons and Fawlty Towers.
Did he do any of his divorce stories. Used to say the ex wouldn't take him to court again as she had the lot last time 😁

The Cliffs Pavilion has the Rock of Ages Comedy Rock Musical on first week of July. If you book before 1st July then all tickets are 20 quid. (top price otherwise is £47). We have booked!!

I am giving my personal endorsement to Lidl Chef Select Sautee potatoes from the chilled section.

Basically a pouch of cooked sliced potatoes, bacon and onion that you tip in a pan and fry until golden and crispy.

My new weekend breakfast with a couple of fried eggs.

£1.25 a go and does two meals for me or one if you are absolutely starving.

The Mulberry walk/run organised by the RNLI. A crocodile of people making their way out from the seafront to the harbour at low tide in aid of charity. Happening now.

Off to sing at the International Shanty Festival in Falmouth this afternoon - the wind and rain that disrupted yesterday seems to have gone(famous last words)
Have a good time mate. Time for a quick chorus of this?

Back from a wonderful few days away in Edinburgh, first time visit for us and we really enjoyed our visit. Excellent journey too, travelling with Steam Dreams on vintage carriages, pulled out of Kings Cross by vintage diesel, but switching to Royal Scot for the arrival into (and out of) Edinburgh.

Didn't do any of Steam Dream's tours while we were up there, just did our own thing. Fabulous.
