Question What is making you happy today?

Bell Tyres. I've been losing a few PSI on my nearside rear tyre so popped into Bell Tyres to check it out. I was carrying not one, but two screws embedded into the tyre. As the tread was getting near to replacing I had it done there and then. They had a Michelin equivalent to my Dunlops at £114. Turns out someone had ordered it but not turned up so I got it at cost. Should have been £158 retail price. Happy RHB, thank you Bell Tyres.

Well I went and spoke to them, agreed to jump ship and told my boss yesterday. He up'ed my wages by 3k a year to keep me ?

That's never happened before in my life, I must be doing something right.
I always work on the rule of thumb that if your current employer offers you money to stay you should still leave, depending on the offer, or course. The reason? Because they should have been paying you that anyway. Did you try asking for the pay rise to be backdated? It can't hurt to ask.

The grass isn't always greener - I am pretty mercenary and have regretted moving once or twice.

Builder getting involved in a little scrap with a couple of school mums about their parking.

To get get his lorry down the road had to get out and put in the wing mirrors of the several cars in question to allow him to get through to his job.

After taking a good couple of minutes to get between the between the cars whilst his mate gave him distances he then got out and started to put the wing mirrors back. It was at this point that one of the school mums came back and started giving this poor bloke a complete earful about how he shouldn't touch property that doesn't belong to him. He should have waited as she was only dropping off little Johnny and was only gone 10 minutes blah blah blah

Builder politely pointed out that its not very good car parking skills to park half on half off the pavement, blocking the route for emergency vehicles etc

School mum then started swearing at the the builder saying he doesn't have the right to tell her how to park to which the builder replied, if its like that later this evening or any day in the future whilst i'm working down this road I will ensure that I do not personally touch any wing mirror to get through. But if i see you car is one of the cars blocking me, then i will make sure that this van scraps along every panel of your car and you'll bloody wish i then moved your wing mirrors in then!!!

Slightly gutted that i'm working in the office for the next two days so I won't get to see the outcome

Not happy, but made me smile when an advert for a T shirt popped up on my screen, unrequested.

£20 for a T shirt, too much? but I thought there may be few on here that would fit the modelling:Winking: bill.

I only found out a year ago, that such a thing existed!. Can you get it more than once?. I had it in 87, & for several years after used to get tingles in the area of my back where it was mainly located.
Ah, I’ve heard of this before. It may possibly have been a misdiagnosis and what you actually had was your body reacting to persistent overdosing on seafood. The tingling you describe is consistent with a rare condition when a lateral line begins to form on the human torso.

But don’t take my word for it. Best to make an appointment and discuss it with your GP.

Ha ha, back then i was eating loads of carbohydrates as i was running Marathons, & seafood was a rare treat ( made up for that over the years! ).
My youngest son was 1 at the time, & caught chicken pox. I was running 50-60 miles weekly, & got Shingles a week before the London Marathon FFS!.
GP reckoned i got it, because my immune system was stretched to the limit, due to the running!.

Yes it`s a one off unless you have certain conditions (which I`ve forgotten) - I had shingles in the back about 20 years ago - still gives me the occasional tingle.

Yes it would suit me (apart from the price!) - my wife tells me that was a grumpy young man so nothing has changed
