Question What is making you happy today?

My sister and nieces visited Kidzania in Shepherd's Bush today. As it is only one train stop away from where I work, I was able to take them out for a cake and a cuppa this afternoon. A very pleasant interlude.

Birmingham airport. Through immigration in under 10 minutes, straight on a train home. Don't get that at Luton/Stansted/Gatwick etc..... (though never travelled from Southend).

Used to be much better.Still good arriving from Barna but a bit of a pain departing through UK customs at SEN.

I couldn't work out whether to post in here or in the hacking you off thread but the weather is glorious so I'm in a positive mood.

It's a simple thought with a more detailed explanation for another day but why is it that, outside the western world, the poorest societies are the most generous? A mantra of I have next to nothing but half of what I have I will willingly share with you.

Do me a favour, just for today. If you see someone genuinely down on their luck give them something. It doesn't have to be money.

Priory Park gates now restored with the lions apparently stolen 25 years ago replaced by resin ones which do look bronze but might not be knicked this time. Looking good. Apparently the lions are R A Jones's crest. Vita Brevis Gloria Aeterna was the family motto.

Yes, gates do look very good, lions do not look "plastic" at all.

Matthew Syed interviewed Michael Johnson at an event at the bank I used to work for.

Michael Johnson was amazing. Matthew Syed wasn't.

It was embarrassing when they were both introduced as former Olympians.

Just seen two armed police officers wandering around Corringham. After a bite to eat in the cafe, they headed for one of the butchers and emerged with a BBQ pack.

Sleep easy people.
