Question What is making you happy today?

Went to the aquatics centre to get some fish food and saw some tropical fish that I thought might brighten up the tank. Purchased them and then when I got home I had only been charged for 2 fish instead of 5. I did wonder why the bloke who served me looked a bit confused when handing over the receipt.

Looks like our house buying has gained momentum - planning for completion on the 17th :stunned:

Good stuff. We completed last friday - stuff out of storage yesterday and hope to have our first night in there on Friday in time for the Euros to start! Just need to finally get the smell of damp dog out of the lounge carpet.

Yuk. Really the previous owners should have got a cleaning company in before they moved. Our vendors have got a great big husky and I've made sure that that's part of the contract.

Spent a day last week in Leicester - doing the Richard III thing - visitor centre, cathedral, his church, Bosworth battlefield. Very interesting.

Getting killed, then having your bits chopped off and hung over your nose, then being thrown naked over a horse and being led back in to the town centre? Wow. what a day!

He was - to be fair the whole panel was excellent.

Yes, a really good show. Which I was expecting given who was on the panel, but even so - first class.

(Sort of off topic, but it was what was making me happy on the drive to work yesterday, so not really)

Pubey just reminded me that I need to book out 1400-1600 in my work diary next Wednesday. Good luck booking a meeting with me now, suckers.

I remember a world cup when England played Brazil in the quarter finals. The game was played morning our time, and the bank I worked for said that they didn't mind if people took time out to watch the match. They even said it was OK to stay at home, and come in after the game, which was what I planned to do. Then one of the MDs booked a meeting with me and one other person right in the middle of the match.

Both of us declined the meeting, and he went mad. He had a go at us for not keeping our calendars up to date, and that it was very important that we have the meeting before the end of the week, and for us two to come back to him with alternatives times.

We did so, and I emailed him suggesting other times. I also asked if, in the interests of keeping my calendar up to date, he would be able to cancel the meeting in my calendar so that I could book the time out. Funnily enough he didn't find that funny, and didn't reply!
