Maybe not 'happy' but I am amused by the chap in our office who has just moved to London from Tel-Aviv.

He seems genuinely shocked and disgusted that he can't get a really nice place in Zone 1 for reasonable money. I feel like he should maybe have done some research before committing to the move...

haha. to be fair, you can get pretty central places in Paris and Berlin for sensible money (maybe 50% less). London is ****ing mental and I doubt he's the first foreigner to be caught out.

haha I remember reading some article suggesting that Wellingborough is the new 'affordable commuter town' for London. To be fair 50 mins on the train isn't unreasonable, but it's all kinds of ****ed up that people are 'expected' to live 70 miles away if they want their living costs to be reasonable.

Me and the missus are in the process of looking for another place in the New Cross Gate/Ladywell/Blackheath triangle and can't find much for less than £1300pcm.
