Question What is making you happy today?

I always make my own bread. I can't stand processed crap.

I've been having health issues (fortunately nothing serious) so I've been eating gluten-free bread which has helped, however it's ferking expensive (£3 for a small loaf), so I dusted off my bread maker and trying my own. Hope it works as i was ferking lovely.

I was always disappointed with the results from my bread maker. Recently I went on a half day baking course at Bread Ahead in Borough Market and now make my own by hand. It's bloody great, I'll never use the bread maker again.

Mine generally comes out ok fortunately. Cutting it into suitable slices is the hard bit

Were you? I'm not really that interested!

Now that is impressive. I'd love to have the time to do that...

I slice it and then freeze it because without preservatives it doesn't last a week. I find slicing pretty easy so long as I leave it to cool for a good 2 and half hours.

I understand those courses are rather secretive, its all on a knead to know basis...

Always good to have something to look forward to in these dull early January days. So a four night summer trip to Budapest for the four of us, the highlight of which will be the wedding of two good friends, has just been booked. Looking forward to it already.

We booked all our 2016 holidays a few months ago so plenty to look forward to. However, it may all change depending on when my wife wants to schedule in her next back op.
