I am knackered. Building an Ikea wardrobe, then changing it about, taking an old one apart. I haven't stopped today. Day of rest my arse.

Saw Espanyol's abysmal 3-0 home defeat to Granada last night.

FWIW,I think Espanyol are going to be this year's Burnley in La Liga. They clearly don't have the resources to mount a serious challenge in the Europa league and La Liga at the same time. While they're in the Europa league (until December) their form in La Liga will suffer.

Have you had any feedback?

Yep, mainly because of other people applying being more civilian qualified ahead of my military qualifications.

Sorry to hear that mate, can't be an easy time to be looking for work with so much still up in the air

No, I’ve got one job that i’m pretty sure I’ll get but it’s a last resort. Oh well just keep trying!

What type of work?

I used to work for a US Bank and the partner in New York told us he was asked to interview a candidate but hadn't read his CV.

He ask the guy to describe a challenging situation where he had produced results.

The candidate then related a story where he parachuted into a lake in Afghanistan, swam a mile to shore etc. etc. and finally stormed a Taliban stronghold to rescue two hostages.

The partner thought he was taking the **** until he looked at the CV and discovered the candidate was an ex Navy SEAL.

All sorts really mainly aviation related, operations manager for North Weald was the most recent. They were impressed just had more civilian qualified candidates.

Braintree Freeport, It appears I'm going there tomorrow. I'll have to see whether I can spend the whole visit in Costa's and then the Bose shop.

Took my grandson to see my mum today, as it was nice we went to Shoebury park. This little toe rag of about 8 asked me if I had any change for his mate's dad's birthday ?

I used to work in the civil service in training and was involved in trying to develop a leadership development programme with other departments. A bloke from the MoD told me that he had set up a leadership programme for managers which had mixed civilian/military groups although they were all in civvies. He asked each person to describe their leadership experience and got the usual pompous waffle about how terribly important each person was and what a vital and demanding job they did. Then one guy quietly said that his last job had been commanding a nuclear submarine. Queue embarrassed silence from previous speakers.
