I had 1 1/2 pints of over-priced beer, a glass of red and I feel a bit ropey. :stunned:

Dear Jeebus, in my early 20s I used to lay under trains (not when they were moving) after a lot more and clubbing it 'til 3am.

It's an age thing. Comes to us all.

Is there a more facile Monday morning work comment than 'ooh, did you have your hair cut this weekend'?

The planning application for the new stadium complex. Only 191 comments supporting as of today, that is absolutely pathetic! Do we not want this as fans? There are 101 comments against. It takes 5-10 mins FFS!

Paid for British Gas "Home Care" all year long (with a £60 excess) to realise i'm not covered, and have to pay £350 to fix the work.

Just what you need before Christmas!

The problem is, the whole thing has dragged on for so long, featuring a string of broken "promises" and false dawns, that a lot of fans have grown apathetic towards the situation. Me included.

Yet again the A127 and A13 blocked due to muppet drivers crashing their cars. Just pull over to have a rant ! Getting to work is no fun :-(

All the more reason to get this planning permission through IMO. Then we can say we've done our part as fans and hold Ron to account, if we don't get planning it is 100% another false dawn

How do we hold Ron to account? What sanctions can we impose on him if he fails to deliver this time?

(FWIW I actually think the stadium will be built this time, not because of Ron, but because of BL.)

I meant held to account as far as blame is concerned, the blame will be firmly on his doorstep. If we don't get planning permission Ron can rightly say we didn't do our bit

I get your point, and in fairness you're not wrong. The problem for myself, and I'd assume many others, is that I feel Ron & the club has had that support, over the last 12(?) years, and still done nothing with it. There's only so many times you can hear the same old waffle before you switch off. Fair play to yourself & others who continue to be supportive, but personally, I'm over it now, and do not wish to give anymore to it. If we move we move, if we don't, we don't. I don't normally like to be so apathetic, but in this case, I'm forced to make an exception.

Afterall, aside from a pretty blue fence, nothing has happened, and we're effectively at the exact same spot, we found ourselves in 12 years ago, with the club asking fans to apply pressure to the powers that be, in order for the stadium to go ahead.

Nah come on mate, we're everyday working class people, who visit Roots Hall twice a month to watch a football match. The planning & building of a football ground, retail park & housing estate is never, has never, and will never be down to us, and to suggest otherwise would be letting Martin off the hook.

Fair enough, but when was the last time you were asked to give 5-10mins of your time to do something? I can't remember any in the last few years? It's registering on a website and then posting a comment of support. Fair enough if you don't like Ron and are fed up of how long it has taken but for the sake of 10 mins max (closer to 5), why not just do it and give us the best chance? under 200 from our thousands of fans is pathetic and if we don't get planning permission it'll be our own fault.

It's a public consultation, who are the public if not everyday working class people? Overall it is not in our hands but this very small part is and if it gets rejected because of this then it is the fans fault for not drowning out the objections and showing the project has public support
