Cheers I will do. Don't think they're dodgy, he's coming round to pick up mail at some point. In my previous house the (grown) children of couple I bought it off were being chased by debt collectors! Didn't affect me getting credit.

Yes it is a bit of a myth about addresses being blacklisted. I have had several tenants who have not paid the gas bill or even took out loans, one of £12,000. All though it has caused me some head aches it has never effected the incoming tenants.

If Bailiffs ever arrive for someone who previously lived at your address or was a dodgy flat mate. I have found it best to say you don't have a forwarding address (even if you do). Then tell them that their not the only ones after him/her and in fact act quite angry because they owe you money and your trying to find them first. We no assets and a list of creditors chasing them the bailiffs move on very quickly as they want to earn the money as easily as possible.

When I was a kid I wanted to go outside, play and speak to people. When I was a kid the world was a much safer place. We had the Iran-Iraq war, the Soviets in Afghanistan and the usual Middle East flare ups. Sure we had the IRA but with some notable exceptions there'd usually be a coded warning. Spain was a holiday and an adventure, not something you could just jump on a cheap plane for and be door to door in 4 hours. Computer games were almost a thing of the future. World news was exciting and usually hours after the event. Satellite broadcast was patchy at best. We had pong tennis and then Atari came in. When BBC computers, ZX Spectrum and Conmodore 64 came in did anyone forsee the world we now live in?

People baring their lives on social media, global terrorism, Pokemon Go. Sex, homosexuality, transsexualism all a part of everyday TV and media. I can't help thinking technology is making the world a much worse place.

As for multiculturalism tell me one country where it works? Wherever you go you need to live by local rules. Except it seems for Europe and the U.K.

Will children ever be innocent again like I was 40 plus years ago?

Blimey ORM!

Your white wine is nice and chilled in the fridge, and please don't go anywhere near that whisky, that you secretly hid away at the back of the cupboard underneath the kitchen sink!!

In all seriousness (& being of a similar age) I completely agree with the first paragraph. The rest I guess, is what they call the "future"......sad but true.

Blimey. Guess what, my kids want to go outside and play. The world is a much safer place - we have seatbelts, no smoking in public..

Oh, and Pinker demonstrated very clearly in his book that violence is decreasing...see here for more details https://www.theguardian.com/comment...s-isis-syria-headlines-violence-steven-pinker

Why is cheaper air travel a bad thing?
Why is new technology a bad thing?
Why is getting world news instantly a bad thing?
If you don't like people baring their lives on social media, block them.
Homosexuality etc - we're all humans living our lives, live and let live.
Multiculturalism - as a concept, is great. Canada have some moderate success, thanks to Pierre Trudeau.

yes, children can be innocent....

You sound very old ORM. Sex, homosexuality, transsexualism have always been there since time begun (sex obviously, or none of us would be here). I'd rather live in a world & country where gay men & women are open, proud and accepted than locked up and violated just because they get their kicks from doing "it" with those of the same gender.

As for multiculturalism? Seems to work for you, as a white European man in an Asian country eh? Works here too if you ignore the minority of morons (of all races and skin colour) and the bile spouted by The Daily Mail and Katie Hopkins.

Hong Kong?

Wayne Rooney is having a testimonial. Isn't Mr Potato Head rich enough already?

Rooney joined United in 2004, that's 4 years earlier than Maher leaving Southend. Yet poor Kev hasn't had his testimonial but Rooney is about to have his! Does Kev wait and hope that RM's dream because a reality or does he just have one at roots hall before he gets too old to enjoy it on the pitch.

Tesco shut at the O2 so went to WH Smith for a pack of fags. £10.70!!! Not in this life you robbing *******s. Also the ignorant ratbags in Costa. Not one person in the queue had the manners to say please or thank you. I hate that.

****ing Pokémon GO. Trying to walk from one end of Old Leigh to the other whilst dodging the strange looking creatures with their mobiles thrust out in front of them ploughing through anyone who got in their way was wonderful.
