I really feel for you and your department , but why is it always before Christmas that they lay human beings off .25% of my department being laid off.......
There are lots of nervous faces.

Probably because they don't want to pay bonuses 8n January.
I am a contractor so cut my cloth with the knowledge that I could be given the elbow at any time.
It would be inconvenient but manageable.
Let's hope for the best...
As for me, it's my train in the mornings. A few months ago I would get this train, and have a choice of about 1/2 the seats on the carriage. I often meet up with friends and we would all be able to sit together. Nowadays I'm lucky to get a seat at all, and if I bump into friends there's zero chance of finding 2-3 seats together.
I know trains are becoming more popular, but I don't understand how this could have happened in the space of a few months.
Full of snot, must be December.
I blame the weather GHG. Mild, damp and windy when I would want cold, frosts and crisp days/nights to "kill" of the bugs.
Four years ago we had all that snow and I don't recall there being all the head colds that there are at the moment - especially on trains.

Yeah, you're spot on about the weather, far too mild for this time of year. Need a bloody good cold snap to sort us out.
