Question What are you reading?

Only just started it, but I've a feeling I'm going to like it very much.

Memoirs of a Fruitcake -Chris Evans Auto part 2 - Despite still being fairly young he really has been there done that - Could be the sort of guy we might persuade to take over SUFC.
He once told a story on air that he & his mates were trying to recite all 92 league teams in the pub & they got them all except one - Guess who?

I have been trying to read the biography of 2 times Le Tour winner Laurent FIGNON. He has such a base and "chip on the shoulder" french attitude of superiority and internal angst about losing a third Tour to american Greg Lemond that I don't think this is a book I will get to finish.

After dispactching Chris Evans in a day (good read)- I am now on to one of my faves - Michael Connelly- The Reversal - In this one usual protagonist Harry Bosch shares equal billing with his half - brother & defending lawyer turned prosecutor Mickey.
Together they are attempting to uphold a 20 year odd verdict against a child killer in a recently overturned case.
I just love this guys work generally & Harry Bosch is a great character with his "everyone counts or no-one counts" philosophy.

Definitely had a huge pomme frite on his shoulder but I loved that book. Have read many cycling books over the years and that is one of my favourites. The title of the book in French just sounds so good as well - "Nous étions jeunes et insouciants"

RIP Laurent.

Good book that.

Paul Theroux's The Last Train to Zona Verde-Overland from Cape Town to Angola.
Anyone who ejoyed PT's last travel book on Africa,Dark Star Safari, published 10 years ago now, should also enjoy this account.
PT seems to think it will be his last travel book.I sincerely hope not.

Read Dan Brown's latest Robert Langdon excursion, Inferno, whilst away. Usual escapism, if you like his stuff then no doubt, like me, you'll enjoy it - thought it a better read than the previous one.

And if you ran out of loo paper in Mexico, you're sorted! Dan Brown novels, soft, strong and very very badly written long.

Just finished Mark Billingham's latest Tom Thorne, The Dying Hours.

Dont know how many more he can write but this one doesn't disappoint, good plot with Billingham's usual humour thrown in, recommended holiday read..

I heard MB on the Arts Show on Radio 2 talking about his books & next day At the St Mary's Fate I saw a couple & bought them.

Currently Reading The Danger by Dick Francis - A bit longer than his usual books & so far not too much racing world intrigue.

Just started Mark Wellington's Who Put the Ball in the Bury Net? Fascinating stuff.Certainly remember that pre-season friendly at Basildon.Peter Butler wound down the window of his car and asked me and Shrimpero if he was going the right way to the ground. He was.

Well i am reading an article about Air Transport services in which the writer define this service as very best way and grateful for all the passengers who are using this service because of the less and avoid from the local transport and other difficulties to use this service this is good article .........

I am reading a way of advertising that isn't annoying at all! Seamlessly meshing into a football fans website in such a way that it is a joy to behold, adding much to the debate on any issue. I sincerely look forward to reading more about this company and the wonderful services it provides, delivered into my favourite fans forum in a way that is entirely appropriate. What a shame that this account is surely soon to be blocked.

*searches frantically for 'sarcasm' emoticon*

Caro Ramsay's Absolution. A stonker of a debut, but a few plotholes (not glaring though)

Couldnt finish China Mieville's Kraken. Too sci-fi for my liking.

Standing in another man's grave was superb.Haven't read any of the other Rebus stories though.

What can i say - they are typically quite slow stories but packed full of character traits , comedy, irony etc. There are a lot of them for sure - I tend to avoid the TV versions as they are never as good as the books.
