Question What are you reading?

Temple by Matthew Reilly.

Having picked this book because it was in a sainsbury sale fot £2, what a ride.has two stories running side by side one modern and one set in the time of the spanish conquistadors. Have to say that was his third novel have gone back enjoyed them as fast pace setting books. Ice Station is very good.

Just finished reading 'Bloggs 19'. It's the story of the Rettendon murders of The Essex Boys, however, it's told by Darren Nicholls. The infamous supergrass whose testimony sent 2 men to prison. The book tells the story of Nicholls rise from petty criminal to drug smuggler to supergrass. If you're interested in the 'triple muders' story, then i'd definitly recommend this book.

I'm looking forward to reading 'Bonded By Blood' and Steve 'Nipper' Ellis's Last Man Standing book

Clarkson - Driven to Distraction, a good read nice short chapters reasonably amusing in that claksonian way and lots of stuff about which cars should be avoided like the plague and what to waste your Lotto Millions on should you be that lucky which frankly im not

Sevenoaks is passe. It's all about Cranbrook now, where I've moved to.

Yes I've read it - funny, and well worth it.

Nothing about books...........but lots about memories! I lived in Cranbrook for a year before moving to Tenterden. Taught at Angley School for thirteen years............now the Angley Sports Academy, or something similar. I don't suppose anything has changed, in the sense that most parents probably still want want to get their kids into Cranbrook School after two years!
Still have ex-colleague/friends that live in the High Street and we generally visit them every time we return to England.

Yeah, Angley's the second choice - the Sports Academy, or whatever it is.

Denise van Outen was in the George recently, she's moved to Benenden with Lee Mead.

Nothing changes, it's peaceful and scenic. I love it.

Just completed The Great Gatsby.

Top stuff.

Just read this too. Was my wife's book club book. A good, easy read.

Also, recently finished Oliver Twist. Was inspired to read it after seeing the show at Christmas. Must say, Dickens was a fantastic song writer, but no songs were included in the book!

OK, your antenna, like my wife's, is pointed towards Scandinavia. She introduced me to their crime writers but unfortutely most of the books she has bought are in French. I have read the first of the Millennium trilogy and am waiting to buy the third before launching in to the second volume. (Wasn't out when I was in England last Summer)
Like you, I read the Ice Princess and I also finished my first Mankell, 'The White Lioness', which I enjoyed, especially the South African connexion. Incidently, the Wallender TV series has just arrived on French TV, saw the first one last Friday. Atmosphere and characters good ...........but dialogue I found a little weird.
If you haven't discovered him yet, can I suggest Jo Nesbo. There are a series of about eight books and from what I understood, it's best to read them in chronological order. Unfortunately, in the publishers wisdom, they translated number three, four, five etc.... into English and the first two are not due to appear for some time! Thus, I am obliged to read the first, 'The Batman', in French, which is a bit slow going. Although I can follow the story line pretty well, I do miss some of the subtility of the text.......as you just can't keep going to the dictionary every few lines!

I'm currently reading Mark Kermode's It's only a movie. It's very funny -even if (like me)you don't rate/haven't seen- half the films he raves about.

Just read Arthur and George, fantastic novel. Now reading a book called Hater by David Moody - Del Toro liked it, which is praise. OK so far.
