Question What are you reading?

Just started Colin Grant's enjoyable Bageye at the Wheel: A 1970's Childhood in Surburbia. In Luton in CG's case though his acount is a Jamaican one, rather than the Asian ubringing portrayed in the recent Blinded by the Light.
How come white working class kids don't get to publish their childhood memoirs anymore?

I'm told Enemy of the State by Tommy Robinson is a very good read......Let us know if its any good.

Fanks but no thanks.

How about Cassie Pike and her account of growing up in Halifax. Ticks lots of boxes that would be right up your street....Abandoned by the government, dismissed by the media and the police used against her when she was just trying to fight for her basic human rights.

I'll fink about it but got quite a lot to read atm.

Just started Jack Fairweather's The Volunteer : the true story of the resistance hero who infilitrated Auschwitz.Well written and intensly moving.Another nail in thecoffin for those who think war is a zero-sum game.

Enjoying Chris Atkins's A Bit Of A Stretch. The Diaries OF A Prisoner.Wandworth in his case.Entertaining read but conditions there seem to have declined drastically since I was a visitor,in the late 70's.

Anyone else read Simon Scarrow books about the Roman army, great reads and lose your self story lines

Would recommend you start with the first book, on how the legion became one, then you can mix and match as they march and fight around the world

Some facts thrown in,but generally a good read /yarn
