Question What are you reading?

read two more books in the last 2 weeks - Spiral by Koji Suzuki (sequel to the Ring), OK, bit pretentious more than anything, couldnt decide if it was horror or sci-fi, and Depths by Henning Mankell. Took a while to get into, but once you get into it, gripping reading and superb evocative writing. Now reading Portnoy's Complaint by Phillip Roth, which at the moment is hilarious.

"Genghis Khan" by John Man. Trying to get to grips with some of these Mongol names is hardy than reading an Osy post.

Still ploughing through a fairly turgid Kate Bush Biog, although nearly finished. The odd bit off interest, but not much.

Looking forward to my Radio 2 season of books. Terry Wogan's autobiography, which for some reason appeals to me. This will be followed by Chris Evans' autobiography. If you see it in a shop, read the back cover & the reference given for him. Hilarious!

I rang Chris Evans up via his GLR show back in '92 and told him a story about Tony Blackburn which he loved ... and then got me to broadcast ...

... and you can read it in the opening pages of this 'modern classic' about some of the greatest DJ's this island has ever produced ... now available via Amazon :)

FM247: This Is Radio Binfield!

Ooh, a shameless plug which has guaranteed you at least one sale from my good friends at Amazon;)

George Orwell's Homage to Catalonia. It's actually answering a number of questions I had after reading Nineteen Eighty-Four for my English Literature GCSE 20 years ago. Very good so far, scary what a trip to Barcelona will make you go and do!

Actually to be fair Glasgow only a small part of the book is actually about Barcelona( just a chapter or so IIRC).Most of it describes life on the Aragon front some wayfrom Barna. But I take your point!;)

Yeah true, but it was the bit in my tourbook that mentioned Orwell's hotel on Las Ramblas and the building opposite where he was part of the May Day troubles siege that made me want to read it.

Pompeii by Robert Harris - so far it's excellent. A dan brown style pageturner, but it's Harris so it's actually good
