Just got the latest British Sea Power album for my birthday so getting into that now, Engineers is quality as is Doves.  Hal is pretty good too, picked it up for less than £8 in Tesco's!!!

I'm still loving Antics by Interpol from last year & for some reason, "getting them" has made me seek out the devine works of Joy Division (just also finished the biography by Ian C's widow), he was an amazing talent who knew he had to die young to achieve immortality.
Doh, forgot about the Spirit.

First saw them supporting British Sea Power at Shepherd's Bush last spring and was really impressed. Have kept a close eye on them ever since.

Not really got into Cuts Across The Land yet, although there are a few very good tracks there.

I have mostly been listening to a lot of Balearic and Italian house music.

I also forgot to mention the debut Maximo Park album, Graffitti.

Immense!!!!

Somehow, it conjures up images to me of when The Jam & various other new wave bands ruled the early 80s. All I need now is a pair of Lois kick-flare cords to match my Lyle & Scott jumper & Adidas Forest Hills

You should all check out the new Magic Numbers album out next Monday. It's quality.
And new album by Editors out in July too. If you like Joy Division and Interpol, then you'll love Editors. The album's class.

I've been listening to Fields of the Nephilim, I have no Idea why, I bought some CD's off a gothy mate but never listened to them for months, so now I am. Also some band called inkubus Sukkubus who gothically are similar, again purchased from said gothy mate so that he could indulge in ropey drugs.

...Last I heard gothy mate had turned mod, bought a scooter and went to see the alley where Jimmy bonked the one out of Men behaving Badly in Quadrophenia,...which is good because in a few weeks time he'll be selling me his newly aquired Who and Jam collections

Hello and the Sun Rising by the Beloved,  Beef (how low can u go) by Gary Clail and the On-U Sound System, Only Love can Break Your Heart by St. Etienne, Pump Up London by Mr. Lee, Promised Land by Joe Smooth and Somethings Burning by Stone Roses. Respect to Benfleet new waver

Cheers for that.
There was an Interpol/Joy Div style band that I'd heard on MTV2 a few weeks back but I never got to catch their name properly so I reckon that must have been Editors.

I'm loving The Magic Numbers too, their single has to be one of the best so far this year, although if I was the drummer or the thinner of the 2 girls I'd be slightly miffed at the video either making me as ugly as the singer or as fat as the bass player!

I know The Magic Numbers and they're not the best looking bunch, by their own admission! They're 2 brothers and sisters. The most lovely people though, and the girl that isn't the bass player is actually pretty cute.

Indeed - buy the album when it comes out next week, it's very good.

Napster, look away now - twee indie alert! The Magic Numbers have boy/girl vocal harmony's and tunes that are more catchy than MRSA.

That out next week as well? Cool. Get that along with Departure album. Oh, Subways album out on 4th July as well. Forgot to mention that one.

No I haven't....

Resurrected Garbage - G for a listen as well as Coldplay's X&Y and the Foo Fighters' latest offering. Problem with the Foos is that I can't ever accept that any album they do will be better than The Colour and the Shape. Also got amateur transplants on the go although the Northerners up here don't like it!!!

Favourite song currently: Specialist - Interpol

Two cd's on high revolution at the moment:-

1) Subpops new sampler - Sleater Kinney et al, it rocks.

2) Northern soul experience - a double cd of solid Northern soul, everyone should have a bit of NS in their life.

(From here on in )
Bloody hell. That's one from the memories for me,

First festival I ever went to was Leeds some years back and the first band I saw at a festival on about the second slot was the Living End. Hadn't heard anything about them since!
