Really excited about the new Nick Cave stuff, fantastic that he's still creating after the terrible tragedy last year.

Never really understood the Beatles comparisons. Obviously Noel tried as hard as he could to draw those comparisons, and Whatever was a very deliberate attempt to sound like The Beatles, but apart from that I just don't hear it. Always felt that Blur were much more Beatle-esque; Modern Life is Rubbish and Parkilfe are certainly far more akin to the classic '60s pop of Beatles/Kinks/early Floyd than anything Noel has ever done.

Agreed about Blur - I remember in the mid 90s that they re-invented themselves and started wearing DMs, Sta-Pressed trousers and waving the Union Jack...Britpop in it's heyday. Oasis weren't so obvious.
