Just had an excellent Menu del dia at our local restaurant in SC.Asparagous soup ,trout and a mixed fruit salad.Topped off with an Americano.
I just can't do whelks......they remind me too much of giant snails!Half a pint of both coc kles and whelks from Leigh Old Town, with couple of slices of bread and butter. Scrumptious!.

When they are freshly caught in the Summer months, i don't add anything to them as the Leigh on Sea ones are flavoursome enough on their own.Tons of white pepper and vinager goes down a treat.

I always make the sauce from scratch, cook it then leave for a day , before adding the meatLeft over Massaman Curry, even better after it's been left for a few days.
