What are you having for lunch? (rolling thread)

My perfect full English for breakfast or lunch is 2 eggs,fresh fried toms, 2 well done bacon,2 pork bangers, a fried slice,black pudding and burnt bubble with 2 crusty bread, job done not forgetting a strong mug of tea.
 
4 soft bread rolls, crammed with Byfords butcher's award winning chipolatas & smoked bacon. Just what i need to fill the energy tank, before setting off to walk to Roots Hall from Thames Drive in Leigh.
I'll take the 'scenic' route today, alongside the brook behind Manchester drive & Fairfax drive!.
 
I just cut one in half, down the middle.
I asked, because you’re the acknowledged expert on all matters fish and because I’m in one of those pedantic moods my wife despises.

A kipper - as you know - is a whole herring split from head to tail in a butterfly fashion. All I’m asking is if you cut the kipper down the middle, losing one of the basic characteristics of a kipper, ie the butterfly shape, does it cease to be a kipper and becomes two halves of a smoked herring.

There’s probably a lot to consider here. Do you think I should start a thread and throw it open to all?
