Surprised he has lasted so long .3 grilled rashers of local Butcher's thick smoked bacon, & 2 of his Cumberland sausages, crammed into 2 wholemeal rolls!.
Not for much longer alas, he's closing down later this month.

Sadly all the supermarkets have shut most of the greengrocers , bakers , fish shops and butchers all over the country , the sad thing is we all guilty of useing the big stores .So am i!. He told me at the weekend, on a Tuesday if he takes £50 all day that's good. That's loose change to a buisness, let alone making a profit. Obviously his main trade is on a Fri & Sat, but with his electric bill going up mega, he decided to call it a day.
He tried to sell it at a knock down price, but no one was interested ( can't blame them in these turbulent times? ).
So i will be going there on Friday, to stock up on pork chops, gammon's, sausages, chipolatas & smoked bacon, after i've been to 'West's' down the Old Town!.

One of the best pubs around.At The Anchor pub Danbury yesterday lunchtime, in a stop off during 7 mile dog walk had steak and kidney pudding, gravy, seasonal veg, mash potato, and a pint of Adnams Ghost Ship.
Absolutely 10/10, felt quite heavy afterwards and slow to get wallking again!

Absolutely, it is an example of how to run a country pub that many others would do well to follow.One of the best pubs around.
I like those with slices of red onions in them!.Corned beef sandwich
