Think it's unfair to slag Kane off, he is only a young lad and doesn't deserve the kind of slagging off some are giving him. However, I do think we have more effective midfield players and if someones willing to offer us a good fee then I think we should take it, especially if theres a chance some of the money can be spent on improving the team either now or in the summer.

Kane Ferdinand has been a revelation since he started at Oxford last year. There's no doubt that he will become an outstanding player given his age and time to gain experience. What need is there to ridicule a player who has come through the ranks and actually has become a sellable commodity through PS's belief and Kane's ability.

He really is a good player who will only get better given that he was a CB converted to midfield, not only being very young but also playing in a very physical league.

Whether he stays or goes perhaps someone can explain to him how to use a ticket machine whilst using the C2C line :whistling:

FWIW...I think there is at least an element of him reaching a plateu in performance as a young player, which is common. Not been too good lately, but some people should cut him some slack!

He has cost us nowt and may in paper talk make us 500k in the future , I'm not his biggest fan but fully understand its a big ask for a slightly built 18 year old to boss the midfield in this division . IMO a centre Midfielder reaches his peak around 25-28 year old mark .

Knowing when to slow the game down , when to take a booking for the team if a player has past you and bearing down on teh 2 centre Halfs , knowing when to hold and nullify play when the opposition are on top for periods of the game and then knowing when to gamble and push on to join up with the front 2 will also come on in a few years for this lad.

From what I've seen of him he likes the ball at his feet and I feel him moving up a few leagues may suit his game , in that respect I believe a move to a Championship club will do both teams a favour and I wish him the best of luck if it does go through .

Just remember League 2 does not suit every player and better young CM in Prem Reserve team than Kane would struggle to boss every game and make an impact in this league .....Something to bear in mind .

I agree with this completely - I think Kane is a skilled player, but this division doesn't help him. He needs to play with more time on the ball IMO. If we keep him and go up, he may want to stay to gain experience, but to be honest, a Championship side looking to go up to the Premier League has to be a good option for him and the club.

Good point. There is quite some skill in developing young players - when to know when to push them ...... and when to leave them to mellow a little. And alongside experience, he will still be developing muscle strength, stamina etcetera ......
