It's not a striker we need but a midfielder / tactics that can create chances for the 4 strikers that we have already!

Agree w. although I do think we need a decent striker if possible, but really could do with some youngsters prepared to risk driving at teams. Our views here seem strongly torn between its the system we play at fault or we dont have those players who can do the above

I was impressed with Altrincham driving forward at pace
 
Pepple got Maher massively out of the cr p by creating most of it on his own. If you have not got someone like thast then you need to supply the lesser strikers with good service from midfield
Those capable of this are Moncur, Morton and KAF...oh hang on a minute?

This is interesting as well. Hints that we have a player/players we want to bring in and we think want to come but there is a mismatch in expectation on fees with the club- hence the through right channels bit.

Thats about as far as Kev goes on the hint front?
 
Wonder if Dallas could be one we’re looking at/talking to? Barrow have ended his season long loan and he has gone back to Barnsley.

I think he was one that had all but agreed to join us previously but the embargo prevented it?

Moncur? I'm not sure you'll get a lot of support with that.
He started OK, and got progressively less useful. KAF is an upgrade on Terrell, and Morton the creator? If you say so.
Pepple did forge a lot of chances with strength and purpose. Basically, we need Pepple Mark II.

Moncur, one game playing for bottom of the League, gets a goal....Maher wouldn't have allowed that!
The other two that never get a game, do the stats, getting boring like our manager!

But you see that’s fine- it’s enough. We don’t need actual names of players and clubs including through the ITKs. But enough to know we are active and aiming high ideally ( to Kev’s previous comments about only signing players who will improve the team by being better than what we’ve got) and some of the challenges even if in generic terms.

I think we need to be better at the PR side of it. You can say quite a lot whilst giving away nothing- I sense Kev is desperate to get certain targets and wants nothing that might jeopardise the deal to come out which is fine.

It was open play? He was found just outside the box in acres of space with the keeper in no man’s land. He might not be the player he was but he’s still good enough to convert that. Not sure he benefited from such a generous piece of defending whilst with us.

Also they are playing 4231 with Moncs in the 10 position. No defensive responsibility so less chance he will be too tired to shoot.

In reality it tells us nothing.

Well it is certainly clear that they're not going to invest now to achieve these goals. If it happens they would have skimped it.

To add.. if they was serious about going for it for the rest of this season then would have been some sort of contingency plan for if Pepple were to be recalled instead we're scratching around not doing alot. Not the move of owners gunning for a play-off spot and a FA Trophy final.
