Breaking News Watt you mean gone?

He promised so much and delivered so little. I was expecting fireworks and didn't even see a sparkler.
A lightweight boy in a man's game who was not up for the fight, goodbye.

I'm surprised at the response to Watt on here, although after many years of posting on this board I really shouldn't be. In fact I'm ashamed that I am surprised.

In his four games for the club:

Colchester - was on a mud patch

Tranmere - he suffered a bad knock to the head and then an ankle knock meaning he was fully fit for about 20 mins of the game.

MK Dons - he should never have played due to the above injury.

Even against Charlton he was thrown back in after just one days training. We've had sod all time to judge him and yet most people have seemingly written him off completely. Ho hum.

I thought he had something but was a little lightweight, needed some more games at our level to find his legs.

Surely he goes into the top 10 of most pointless/useless loan signings, alongside stars such as Darren Blewitt and Robert Milsom?

...and Warren(?) Feeney.

I agree with what Andy_S saiys to a point. Watt didn't seemed 100% fit but to me it seems that Moussa needed a rest after playing in every game in 2009 and we had no one to fill "his" position (disclaimer: I feel Moussa should play center midfield and not try to compensate for Gower's absence). In the games I saw (Col U, Tranmere and Charlton) Watt was pretty much anonymous as we tended to play down the right with Francis and Scannell and he didn't really get involved. He may have been carrying an injury/injuries but why would he and the management want to play him when he's not fit?

I only saw the Colchester game, which is no place to judge a player, but I've seen the boy on several occasions while covering Arsenal. If he seriously thinks he's going to be involved in the title chase then he's deluded. He's got so many players in front of him, it would take an injury crisis of epic proportions to put him in the frame. He would have been far wiser to stick around and get some first team experience, especially at a more physical level.

Anyway, from what I've seen of both Watt and Stanislaus, neither of them will make the grade at the top level.

Agreed. Apart from the bit about losing in the last minute to Southampton. Does he have a crystal ball? I hope not.

Tommy Black. Black, while sometimes lazy, had an exceptional ability to spot passes and cut open defences.

Unfortunately, due to playing at a lower level some of the other players lacked the knowledge to play with him, and he ended up disinterested and frustrated. I can't help but feel that if he was still at the club, and used properly, we would be at a Championship level now.

Is he serious ???

That last sentence in the paragraph Firestorm highlighted is farcical, but I agree, to an extent, with what he says about Black. One of the only positives Black demonstrated with us was his intelligence on the pitch and eye for a pass. His best performance was when he played in the hole behind a front man who, I believe, was Leon Clarke.

He, along with Gary Hooper, where excellent down at Bournemouth in our 4-1 win just after the news of James Walkers' deal breaking down due to heart problems.
