Breaking News Watt you mean gone?

Junior Stanislas went from not setting our first team alight to the premier$hite. I think his performances were pretty similar to Sanchez Watt's*. They looked as if they had ability without ever really producing.

*Obviously Arsenal are far better than Wet Sham

Stanislas showed his class while with us.....

Not a big loss, hardly done anything with us. However does limit our midfield options with Jeff, Grant and O'Keefe unavailable. I would hope Tilly might be trying to get someone in because the 3 home games after Hartlepool are massive massive games and our midfield looks very lightweight at the moment.

I wonder if Tilson will be in the market for another left winger this week?

He made a big thing about Watt's ability to play wide left, or left of a front three saying its something we have been lacking for a while. Is Hal Robson-Kanu about at the moment? He'd be ideal.

Came with a lot of hype, and disappointed because we all thought he was mustard. Same situation with O'Donovan as well. Both threads when they joined mentioned how good they was etc etc.

Hopefully Tilson can find another one no-one has heard of, who turns out to be the dogs dangly bits ala Dervite (wrong position I know, but no-one knew him when he arrived).

I certainly did, was very surprised we managed to sign him to be honest as I suspected he was a cut above League One. Having said that I thought the same of Sanchez Watt before he arrived.

But you are in the minority there.

I had never even heard of him before we signed him, and I consider myself to know quite alot about football. I'd spoke to Spurs fans (proper ones that go every week, not some of my mates who have never been) and they had never heard of him.

With O'Donovan and Watt, he have heard all the hype and believed it ourselfs, so our expectation of what they could do went overboard. At the end of the day, it was Watt's first spell away from his comfort zone at Arsenal, and I think it would have benefitted him staying with him till the end of the season and proving himself with us in a relegation scrap.

You learn more from players when they are struggling as opposed to when your flying high. People like Barrett, Francis, Macca, Baldwin and Vernon to name a few have shown themselves to be up for the fight and have rolled their sleeves and got stuck in whereas maybe Watt wasn't up for the fight and thought it best to play no pressure reserve team football at Arsenal. Its his choice at the end of the day.

Didnt do nothing,

But lacking players in midfield so would have hoped to have kept him just for that..

Which is why I think we will see a loanee coming in this week.

JFC out for 4 games, Grant and O'Keefe both injured means a midfield pairing of Macca and Moussa which means we will be playing a round peg in a square hole at left wing with either Laurent, Scannell or Malone.

Can't see him ever breaking into the first team week in week out any time soon, may get better but didn't see much promise..
Completely agree. Looked a bit better on Friday night but hasn't been pulling up trees. Seems to lack the physical presence required. In fact, I haven't been that impressed with the loanees in general this season in comparison with previous years.

Is the loan window definitely open?

We definitely need someone to come in, if anyone else gets injured then we literally have no options.

Yes, the loan window re-opened a week after the January window shut, and is open until the end of March, around that time. The 28th is sticking in my mind for some reason, but I'm not 100% sure on the date.

Cheers muchly BW2. Here's hoping Tilson can somehow manoeuvre a deal with the promise of first team football for a month or three.

I think it is traditionally the last Thursday in March.

If you havent got the fight to play well when your not winning things...... then not the right attitude IMO,it would have put him in good stead for his arsenal future a few months loseing with us.

With all due respects unless your one of the players then you really havent got a clue what your on about. He might have been the bubbliest player you have ever seen behind the scenes.

Just too lightweight, no doubt he his talent, but at this level he was pushed off the ball like some sort of 8 year old.

He needs to get in the weights room, ala Kightly

He didn't suit our style - or that of any league 1 team. He was all about pass and move which I'm sure he did at youth level and in the arsenal reserves, but not sure JFC and friends were able to keep up.
