WARNING!!!

Napster

No ⭐
We have just received a letter from the Football League warning us to to desist from showing highlights from matches which are the sole copyright of FLPTV and the FL.

Any posts with highlights will be deleted on sight and the relevant person warned.

Be careful out there.

Funnily enough I was thinking about this last night & was wondering if this board was monitored in any way by FLPTV or the Football League so they would find out about the distribution of video clips. Shame really then that they have the monopoly on the rights therefore necessitating the need for dross like Blues World. Obviously, if you have Sky you can try & catch the goals on Football League Review but the contempt that they show for lower league football (particularly League 2) needs adressing.

Maybe a bit of Peer to Peer filesharing could overcome this particular obsticle.....

Dear Football League

Maybe I should support a Premiersh*te team. That way, as an overseas supporter, I can watch my team's matches, highlights and goals on a number of channels and programmes.

As it is, I refuse to pay FLPTV for their crap service and awful customer relations any more than I have to.

Time for the above powers that be to get their house in bloody order.

Sorry folks, 'tis a sad reality of modern life. I've just spent the best part of 40 minutes drafting a very carefully worded e-mail to the Football League for Napster & Leeboy, in order to protect this website.

Please, if you want SZ to stay open, do as Paul says... even though it saddens me to say so.

Wasn't the clip from the ITV highlights package - not FLPTV.

Alternatively if someone who subscribes to Blues World let slip their User name and password.....................

ITV probably has an agreement with the Football League to show the footage, which remains copyright of the FL.

Same with FLPTV for the web.

MtS, just out of interest, do you happen to know what is the current legal position re file sharing (peer to peer) instead of posting a link to a stored file on the web?

I'm not unduly worried about this as I've got access to Sky but it sure was nice to have footage to hand as & when you wanted it without having to rely on either SS1 @ circa 19:50 every Sunday night or SSN when they could be fecked to show it at some unholy hour of Sunday morning!

Whilst I don't know for sure, my instinct is that (alas) file-sharing is also a breach of copyright...

Well, sadly, that will be me near enough screwed.

No Sky, not enough money for BluesWorld (sadly, eating comes first), no filesharing software allowed on campus and now nothing through SZ. That said, I'm not terribly surprised that they're not happy about it and this was kind of behind my tongue in cheek post on one of the threads about making a rival end of season DVD.

Interesting point that this, as with the legal action brought about by the music industry, raises. When it's free, I'll download the goals every week. If they stick a price tag on it, I almost certainly won't be interested in the product any more.

Added to that the likelihood that SUFC is paid as a fixed rate at the start of the season rather than a 'per head' revenue rate, the cause that my money would go t hardly seems like one I particularly want to fund.

Ah well, back to developing images of goals from the fbm views and ratings...

Yep, and for that we can thank Mr. Murdoch, and the greed of the largest clubs in our land - yet another reason to loathe Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and the like.

Bloody Premier$hite football...

Really good article in this months 4-4-2 about the future roadmap for football & I never ever thought I'd say this but I find myself in full agreement with Graham Kelly (ex Chief Exec of the FA who's reign covered the instigation of the Premier$hite in 92). His point of view was that the FA was found wanting when it's direction was probably needed most throughout it's 100+ years in existence & allowed itself to be bankrolled by the "Big 5". This lack of autonomy is still being felt & in his opinion may well have dramatic consequences for the professional game over the next 25 years.

Nuff said, really.  Kelly's squeaky voice was a result, it might be said, of his lack of cojones.

He can speak authoritatively as to the FA's lack of leadership and courage, because he was in charge of the FA.  He is, frankly, a prize wiener of the highest order, and a man who continues to make my toes curl at the very thought of him.

Exactly why I used the term "never ever thought I would agree " with him!

Wiener just about sums him right up.

My opinion of him formed the day of Hillsborough which although not PC in this modern age just emphasised to me (even at the tender age of 16) what a complete tool he was. Also, those embarrassing PR shots of him playing Sunday League football into his 50s!

Think you must have read my mind, I may have been thinking that but decided to keep it clean!

Why don't we just tell them all to f**k off and find an offshore server for Shrimperzone in future ?

I happen to subscribe to Sky but I never seem to be able to get to watch the highlights on either Sky or ITV. All I want to do is watch highlights of the team I love. Where is the crime in that ?

Well said ORM, now if football supporters united & gave FLPTV et al that message we might get somewhere!
