Villagers object to stadium

Quote[/b] (Up the Shrimps @ Nov. 17 2006,20:52)]How come they have not objected to the huge B&Q now being built, which will be far busier 7 days a week than the Football ground. (can't see the retail development included in our plans affecting Sutton Road much as entrance is to the South).
Spot on. If the football ground doesn't get built there, they'll probably end up with an enourmous 24/7 Tesco superstore.

I know which I'd prefer (but then I'm biased).

Everyone has a right to object and I think the residents of Sutton are more than entitled here. I don't have a problem with it because, unlike the KARERS, they are simply stating that the development may have a negative impact on the lives of 40 residents. That is indisputible. The KARERS seek to belittle all football fans and pass themselves off as economists able to predict the econmic future of the town given this development.

I think it should be noted that the club will not get everything in the plans if passed. I imagine tat it actually includes a lot of proposals that they know they won't get and don't really want, such as the 120 odd flats. However, the council get to reject something so it doesn't look like A whitewash, and the club get a new ground with external revenue streams.
