Villagers object to stadium

I'm probably going to get shot down here, but I will honestly not miss Roots Hall at all.

Yes, it will be an emotional occassion when we play our last game there, but the club to me is not about bricks and mortar, it's about the players and the fans - and they won't change.

Some of things I won't miss are:

1. Posts obscuring my view
2. Crap acoustics
3. Tiny seats with no leg-room
4. Not being able to get a burger, beer, or go for a slash at half-time and get back for the start of the second half.

Things I will miss:

1. Living two minutes walk away
2. err... that's it I think.

Move to Sutton then

Pretty spot on jools, seen the hall change over the years(23 of them) and agree that a new stadium will improve the matchday experience

Sooner we move out of root-hall the better. This club need the new ground to process, Root-Hall is too small for the big game like ManU as I missed out on the ticket.

I think you'll find that's his brother "Leyton Orient Lionel" who is the black sheep of the family

If I won the euromillions tonight, I'd buy the club and we'd stay at RH.
If I won the euromillions tonight, I'd buy the club and move us to Fossett's Farm.

There is no future at Roots Hall above League One. We NEED the new ground and enabling development.

More than 40 people attended the meeting...
...and in other breaking news, a small group of large birds with fan-shaped tails and wattled necks in Norwich have roundly criticised the surving of Turkey as a traditional dish across the UK at Christmas time.

Further afield, rumours prevail of a former dictator recently captured by US forces and tried by the Iraqi High Tribunal being strongly believed to be opposed to death sentences handed out willy-nilly for crimes against humanity.

can I just add at present (and this is from a very reliable source) they are planning to use their trump card. Apparantly there is a rare mushroom in the field that is a protected species!!! Now if anyone should accidently sroll into the field and tread on it !!!!! I rest my case

No 20 more like, they called in rent-a-villager.

How come they have not objected to the huge B&Q now being built, which will be far busier 7 days a week than the Football ground. (can't see the retail development included in our plans affecting Sutton Road much as entrance is to the South).

wink.gif
from my understanding it is where the club wants to build their car park and I know that developers in the past have applied for this land and have been refused by Rochford Council. I have been to Rochford council meetings in the past when they have discussed developing plans and believe you me they are not a easy bunch and are reluctant to use open spaces

Aaahhh I know what bit you are talking about now...

The club have earmarked the piece of land that falls under RDC boundaries, as the potential area for the training pitches/facilities...

Don't think it's a major concern, sure they could build this elsewhere around Fossetts Farm...

Now, if there was an 17th century batch of magic mushroom's on the site of the stadium itself, i'd be more worried..

Anyway, who's got the torches....

No need to burn their houses down, I'm sure they are quite nice people.
