So Jenkins was with Watford last season but they never issued him a squad number and he never played, seemingly for anyone. That's a long time on the books and not either farmed out on loan or released. What has he been doing all that time and why the lack of use? At 6'3" he doesn't score many. You would think a header or two should go his way. Seems an odd kettle of fish.

Agree with you, very strange. Didn't go out on loan to anyone............what on earth did he do for the year. Perhaps he was the club mascot? :smile:

The Watford mascot is Harry the Hornet. Certainly did not sting him into action before they told him to buzz off :smile:

That might be a factor. Certainly the delays in signing players who have done well in games does seem to be odder and odder.

Anyway, two home friendlies this week and then in a couple of weeks there is the first home game so cash flow should be improving.

Have to say that I would side with what the commentators said last night during the game, i.e. PB has seen enough to know which trialists, if any, he is interested in and they were suggesting contracts would be written up in the morning. Not so fast Blues World!..............we do things in 'Ron's time' around here! (Reading reports from last night maybe I got the contract bit from leeblue... aaaaaahhhh , you mustn't get old! :blush:)

He was on a decent-ish wage at Watford and chose to collect his paycheck and see his contract out, rather than take a pay cut by dropping down a couple of divisions. Last season he was on trial at Leyton Orient, and either he didnt impress them or he just held out for the cash.

Brendan Rodgers favoured him in central midfield when he was manager back in 2009 - since then Jenkins has gone backwards, poor attitude if you ask me.

We did sign Worrall last week as well.

It is very possible that Brown is just been very selective, but as Ive said on other thread's Beefy's theory of not signing Fagan because he is still due another months money from Gillingham makes sense.

I dont think we need any of the midfielders currently on trial ..... Defenders is where we are severely week in our squad.

What about Jordan Spence ?????????????? We should be taking a look at him !!!! He's been released by West Ham + is a speedy centre back/ right back who was the best player on the pitch when we last played a friendly against the Hamsters.

I would say he's exactly the sort of player we should be trialing , not diminutive midfielders who are exact clones of Atkinson,Clifford,Worrell + Timlin who along with Leonard , Payne, Bridge + Hurst already form a strong enough midfield.

On another note , sat near me in the directors box last night was a striker who scored against us last season , has 1 year left on his contract + would be a very very exciting addition to our team . I wont reveal his name yet but fingers crossed we can get him signed up !
