TRANSPORT ON SUNDAY

On the broader issue of transport, I was wondering how the coaches are going to work on Sunday? I booked early on the Shrimpers Trust coach, and I think last time I looked the club coaches were up to number 8. I have never used a coach before for an away match but I am guessing this is unprecedented. I think the Trust coaches are due to leave at 10.30, and the Club coaches at 10.00. I guess turn up early and see. It sounds both daunting and a lot of fun!
Last I heard Shrimpers Trust have 22 coaches going to Wembley.

Just had visions of a train trundling down the London Road, could pop off at the Cricketers (has that re-opened?) OK, seriously, I'll look into that....thank you
OK, you learn something every day! I've always thought that Liverpool Street only went to Southend Victoria and Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness. My brother has just told me that, with some trains out of Liverpool Street, there is a crossover onto the Fenchurch Street line.........honestly didn't know they could do that!:Dunce:

Some C2C trains into Liverpool Street has been part of the regular weekend timetable for some years now. The thing is, the regular weekend timetable frequently goes by the wayside when there's engineering work and it seems the first thing C2C do is pull the Liverpool Street services.

I would hope with C2C being our sponsors, they would put extra services on.

GA on the other hand, probably won't do anything!!
I believe both are increasing carriage length of trains in order to maximise.

C2C looked into football specials but tfl wouldn't have any of it.

Not extra trains but trains running from C2C line to Liverpool Street and fenchurch Street via the loop line

I’m going for Liverpool Street to Oxford Circus on the central line, then Oxford Circus to Wembley Central on the Bakerloo line.

I’m hoping, if this isn’t the best way, that someone can correct it.
I don' knoow if there is actually a 'best' way, there are just a number of alternatives and it seems that you pay your money and make your choice! There is the Chiltern Railways overland train to Wembley Park but I don't know if that's going to be overcrowded. That's about 13 mins walk from the ground. Wembley North, Wembley Central, Stonebridge Park, Neasden, Preston Park are all walkable distance from the ground (20/35 mins) or bus. Don't know whether any of these stations re effected by works? If cost comes into it and you're using tube already, it's no extra cost by tube if you've got a zone 1-4 railcard

Quick question if anyone can advise / help....
Contemplating getting off at Willesden for a couple of
"pre match snifters" and then getting a bus up to Wembley, avoiding packed trains, tube etc.

Can I pay on the bus (by cash or card), or do I need to get a 1 day Oyster card - if there is such a thing?
Any top tips gratefully received :Thumbs up:

Be interesting to know how easy it is to get on a bus & just get clear of Wembley, I'm thinking of the 440 from West end of stadium to North Acton & then Central Line??? I'm pre-guessing most fans will be heading to Wembley Central/Stadium stations & I doubt on buses, but you never know.

Tap in with a contactless credit or debit card (or phone/Apple Watch) is cheapest.

Make sure you use the same card/device to tap in and out with.

For buses you only need to tap in and not out. It should be £1.75 for a bus journey.

Would have thought if coming into Euston, the Overground from there to Wembley Central would be pretty straightforward.

Anyone going via c2c should consider buying their return ticket 3+ days in advance to get a 40% saving.

So purchase off peak day return to fenchurch street from Stanford-le-Hope (£9.80). Then do tappy tappy with my credit card to get to Wembley via some pubs and various tubes etc??

Would that be the cheapest?
