Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Transfer Thread - Summer 2025 Edition.

Transfer news
I have heard we are quite interested in that Eastleigh centre half (cannot be bothered to spell his name). Would be a good bit of business if we can get him done, strong, quite tall would be a great centre back and definitely would strengthen the defence.

We have Hopper, Walker , Kendall, Slavic and maybe Bonne ,i think that is plenty ,should we get an injury or two can always look to give the young lad Stone i think his name is some experience or go to the loan market.
Which of the players you have listed would count as a TM? Hopper is a year or two over and a yard of pace short for the role. Kendall and Bonne need a TM to shine and Slavi, the slightly unknown quantity, has a good scoring season with 5 assists. Probably more of a goal getter than a play promoter. I would keep all you have listed and add a big b#gger to complement them.

Ludwig Francillette? 8 goals from centre-back, would seem to fit.

Ludwig Francillette. He is out of contract at Eastleigh, but has been offered a new deal and negotiations are ongoing. With 43 appearances for Eastleigh last season and 8 goals and 2 assists, what I have seen of him is a solid player. Competing financially with Eastleigh won`t be easy, they are bankrolled by Stewart Donald who has invested more than 7 million and left them nearly debt free. Getting the likes of Paul McCallum and Tyrese Shade on free transfers means they can pay high wages. Think he would be a good signing if he feels we are a better prospect of promotion. Let`s hope we hear some incomings soon.

I think we have solid players in abundance.
What we need is sparkle.

The guy that scored the leveller for Oldham. I forget his name and im lazy. I thought he was solid. Good positioning, speed, height. I was quite impressed

The Oldham striker who scored against us is likely to be a free agent after launching chairs at women on his holiday and posting about it. Not Norwood the other one. Cant believe he liked and reposted the video it is pretty shocking

Fantastic signing if we can get him you never he may look at us go competing for promotion or top 10 with Eastleigh but wages might provide to be hard

Francillette looks good on paper but whilst a goal scoring centre back is nice to have, I don’t think it’s the be all and end all. Unless Kev’s shifting to a back 4, we need a centre back who is comfortable on the ball, and can bring the ball out from the back and pick a pass. Otherwise the 3 at the back isn’t effective. Kensdale and Golding are exactly the kind of ilk we need there and whilst Golding scored goals, Kensdale didn’t. But was still excellent in that role.

If Francillette can score and is also very technically good on the ball, it’s a win win. But technical ability is more important for me than popping up with a goal the other end.

He will pick up his wages- either by staying there, moving to a club willing to pay same, or somewhere paying less as long as FGR make up the difference.

Coming here under the last scenario would be a non starter from FGR point of view and if we were going to pay what he is on now then it should be spent elsewhere (up and coming early 20s like Bim).

Cards has made his bed, and however unsettled it’s a financially comfortable one.
I personally can't see him coming back as I can't imagine FGR would agree to a season-long loan without a call-back clause. If we became a threat to FGR in the league, they would want him back to disrupt us and I doubt he would be allowed to play against them either. As much as he was a good player for us, we should move on.
