Yes - I'm not his greatest fan but it gives us more options .......... the other could be a central defender but we are all surely hoping it is some striking wizard who knows how to make the old onion bag puff out from time to time.

Why?

We have 4 currently, cant see why we want another.

Hopefully a striker but could see it being a fullback.

We do have four. And that would seem more than enough but our recent history has shown that injuries and suspensions can then leave us without cover or choice. If we don't get another central defender then that is fine but if we do ..... then, errrrhhh .... that is fine.

We have 4. One is out of contract and one we have an offer on from league two. If we can find a better centre back than one of these two, then it's worth considering?

You cant have 5 centre halves on the books, if you lose 3 to injury you are very unlucky and go to the loan market .

If one left then yes, but I would imagine they would have left by now.

Right now I dont see that we would be looking at that position though.

I wasn't aware of that rule ........ 5 players covering 2 positions eh? To think we had 3 goalies last year covering just 1 position .......... cripes.

Besides injury that you mention there is suspension as well. And what about the idea of having a player ready to step in who knows his team mates and has trained with them rather than some stranger appearing on the day. Crazy I know.

Oh well, let's wait and see what happens.

Or another idea ........ what about a 5th central defender that can also play full back? That would get around the rule about not being allowed to have 5 on the books, wouldn't it?

In the way brown turned down the prosser offer was in such a way as to say, if we can get someone better in we will be in touch

The two players are Pigott and Mclaughlin according to the Echo.

We had 3 keepers, one of which was just a kid breaking through and the other one on his way out moving into coaching.

As I said 4 centre halves is plenty, if you have anough issues to rule out 3 of them then in those extreme circumstances you look to the loan market, or even using White there.

We have a finite budget, we cant carry 5 centre backs, and even if we could do you really think 3 centre halves are going to want to sit in the reserves most of the season and just be happy with one or two games?

I suspect a CB that is equally comfortable at full back would be perfect- which is why we are looking at the guy from Leicester (ex man City)

4-5-1 next season it is, then. Brown's already been laying the ground for this, saying he wants Wordsworth to be dictating games from the middle of the park. Fully expect Timlin and Leonard to be holding behind Worrall, Wordsmouth and Mclaughlin.

And we only have one striker!

Les hope that formation gets us promotion again...

Fully expect us to be signing at least 2 more strikers though, even if 1 is on loan.

That midfield does sound better than last season, not sure Mooney is a player to play as a solo striker so not sure its as cut and dry as that. Wordsworth will be able to play in a 442, it will mean someone missing out if he does though.

It would certainly look that way going on current players signed but I'd fully expect us to bring in at least 2 strikers to have the option to change formation and competition for places/cover for injuries.

They are playing a team that a U13 Sunday League team could probably beat! Plus he is playing up front on his own as Sakho was sent off! Lee aint good enough he looked well fat and unfit when he played for Luton. Hope we dont sign him! He wont wanna play for us anyway now.

Heard a whisper off a Plymouth fan that Zak Ansah has rejected an offer to rejoin Plymouth on loan and will instead opt to join either us or Walsall.
