A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

After a lot of digging around on forums and Twitter etc. I’m fairly sure it’s Rhys Murphy and Jack Bridge. Was really hoping it was Balanta, but I didn’t realise quite how good Bridge has been for Bromley. They absolutely love him and desperately want him to stay. Could be a shrewd move bringing him home.
Been streaming Bromley games this season, Bridge only joined mid January and whilst he has played 27 times to date, he does tend to be one of the first players to be subbed. Performance are about opinions but I think he’s a little greedy and plays with his head down far to much and consequently is unaware when colleagues are better placed.

No idea, you'll have to ask him. That's just the rumour that's been going around. Apparently he was very close to signing last summer but our transfer embargo stopped it. You're right, PB didn't seem to rate him but we're 2 divisions lower now and apparently Ricky Duncan loves him. So I guess it'll show how much influence he has!

Like I said, I'd much rather we sign Josh Rees.
He was at Bromley last year I think? I think he was highly regarded there, with plenty of MOM performances, as regards to why would brown want him now, when he got rid of him previously? At the time we were a first division team, now we are not even in the football league, then he was a kid learning his trade, and now he has numerous football league experience, and once again to reiterate.. we are a not a football league club, players like Bridge will and even Halford will now be the standard whether we like it or not

Sounds like him and ANG are a midfield dream team

I can only think of 5 of the 6 new signings:

Cox(player coach)
Bridge
Murphy
Atkinson
Re-sign Halford

Good signings for non league. I wonder who the last one will be

I would exclude Halford as I’m sure he is not one of the six that has come in to speak to Phil

Phil could have 6 long term loanees, but only 5 of them allowed on the match day team sheet !!

Knock yourself out Phil ???

Not really by stealth....remember PB mentioned he wanted RD in more of a DoF role and really enjoyed working with him. Always worth listening carefully to what PB says and reading between the lines...
Not sure that’s how it works. I can’t see Brown making decisions on a position which would be overseeing him. If that was the case then DoF would be no more than providing lip service or an assistant to PB I.e. a worthless position.

Well it’s about how the role is defined. I don’t think PB would report to RD who would report to the CEO who would report to Ron. Would be an absurd situation. So I think PB and RD would work together neither reporting to the other and both reporting to the CEO, but with direct relationship with Ron. It takes grown ups but the personalities/relationships I think will be good enough to make a success of it.

Thats the ultimate embodiment of selflessness from Demi there. Team above all

It was really quite silly, why did he not rugby tackle or shirt tug the guy? Less risk of injury to both of them.

Having watched it a few times I've seen a lot worse.

Definitely a red card, but the way he slows down and positions himself etc, doesn't put it in the category of danger I've seen elsewhere

There were discussions after that game in respect of why the opposition player was allowed to get that far without being professionaly stopped before getting as far as JD. Two other Cyprus players had the chance to block him before it got to that more attacking position. I heard the manager at the time was very satisfeid with what JD did as it ensured the result that was needed with such little time until the whistle. As were the fans. It was a block that had to happen without risk of failure and he did what had to be done.
Think we will see far worse and less effective things next seson in the NL. For that reason Id prefer Cordner to stay on. Feel hes more robust and cut out for it than JW. Though Im sure JW is talented enough to do the job if needed. I just worry for his physical durability.
