Thanks.... just had a look and at the point the season was abandoned Alfreton were headed for tier 7.

Early days but hopefully a few L2/L1 quality players on our radar if that's where we are aiming to get to next season.
 
Think Will Atkinson could be very good for us in Midfield! However it's the fitness that worries me not playing for a season, if he can get through a full pre-season with no injuries and get to full fitness fast, could be very good for us.

I don't want to see any comments about bringing old players back with this one because we should've brought him back when he was released from Port Vale.
 
Will bless him not for me. He left us feeling very underappreciated and unsurprising given his tremendous engine and the quiet way he went about his work based on that. That was 8 years ago and no football since June a year ago. I dont believe his main quality at 32 years of age and that absence will rekindle that , But he is an ex Phil man and we all know Phils foolish love of a golden oldie

Surely it wasn’t 8 years ago? That’s gone very quick if it has! I swear he played in the play off final?

I doubt they'll be announced until closer to their contracts running out

Will always used to win the running tests on the first day back for preseason.

One thing he does know is how to look after himself.

They could be announced, in league Oor all these things have done before on occasion, I remember Bullard’s move to Fulham being announced before the end of the season and he didnt play Wigan’s last 2 games due to it. Thats one i can think off.

Generally they are not thought which is the main point as it is usually the protocol, but as the seasons are over there isnt a real reason they cannot be announced. once the retained / released list is out then people know who is moving on anyway, not sure on how the retained and released works in non league football it may be different.
