A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

How do you know the circumstances behind his 'rekease' from Chelmsford? Have you read the story on the Chelmsford website?

Top goalscorer and a clean sweep of the end of season awards. How do you know he wasn't offered a contract? I can't for one second believe Chelmo didn't want to keep him given all the above. It says in the article that he was signed with the financial help of the supporters club. Perhaps those funds were no longer available and without them they simply couldn't afford him. He went straight from there to a club in the division above and scored 17 league goals for them.

If you do a bit of digging, you'll often find it's not as simple as "he got released by a National League South side so there must be something wrong".
I hadn't read that no. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Sounds impressive.

Watched Murphy whilst at Chelmsford. I believe he moved because he wanted to play in a higher league. Certainly gave his all while at the club. A good finisher, who with the right service would be a great asset to help get us back into the EFL.

I'm still unsure on rush. Though at the same time I haven't seen rush play much...... I would still like sufc to sign couple more strikers (preferably young with potential). On Murphy he looks the sort of player who will definitely do job in the National league.

When he’d played earlier on in the season, I was exactly the same as you. Thought he looked like a boy playing a man’s game and wasn’t convinced. But after his long spell out the team, I thought he came back into it a different player. I think the drop down to the NL will benefit him a lot.

Yeovil fans saying Murphy is the best striker they’ve had since Paddy Madden. A couple of my Yeovil supporting friends absolutely gutted about losing him. Would be a great signing

I'll be honest I didn't watch the last 3 games so you will have better opinion of rush than me..... he might be lot more confident and be able to express himself more due to Duncan and fagan believing in him compared to MM. hope he does go on do well for sufc and beyond.

Don't forget last season was cut short
Yes, perhaps but Yeovil still played 40 games. It may also be his appearances were curtailed by suspensions as well as injuries but it has since been mentioned on SZ that he is injury prone. I like the fact we have signed someone who has a record of success in the NL but his age and potential frailty do concern me.
A very typical PB signing.
Let us hope my reservations are misplaced and he makes many appearances and scores many goals for us over the next two seasons.
