I understand our reputation is completely on the floor. Somebody mentioned something in this regard recently but can't find the quote now. Everyone we are being linked to at the moment or training with us (except for the unnamed league 1 striker) have played for us previously.

Until we sign another player who hasn't played for us previously you have to think we are under some sort of embargo or ruling where we can only sign players that we have had registered before.

Aldershot forum is still in the honeymoon period with MM. Most think he needs to bring in a lot of new faces especially wingers and send a loan player back to parent club. They played 4-4-2 yesterday it would seem. A few
grumbles about ticketing arrangements shambles too. I felt strangely at home browsing on there.

Coulthurst is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Tilly is doing well at Heybridge Swifts and would surely sign some eager younger non league players if he were here.

I am as frustrated as anyone else that Phil Brown refuses to sign anyone that hasn't played for us before.

However looking at the Coulthirst rumour in isolation, some of these comments seem very over the top. He enjoyed an excellent spell at Barnet a couple of years back, is a player with pace and experience and is coming into the peak of his career.

No he didn't set the world alight last time he was here, but he was a kid then. I don't necessarily think he's coming here to be our saviour, but given how he was linked to a move up to L1 a couple of years back, I see no harm in signing him as back up. Personally I see him as an upgrade on Kargbo and probably Rush too.

A player with pace is exactly what we need and he did well at Barnet (10 goals in League 2 and 12 in the National League). It is his last two seasons that worry me, only completed 90 minutes twice while missing the majority of the 2019/20 season and missed the end of last season too.

Having not played in 6 months, I doubt we will see him playing anytime soon.

He was also Boreham Wood's first penalty taker in our FA cup game last season, which was saved.

Not at all. It’s just all got a bit eye opening now that’s all. Getting fed up of only being linked with players that have played for us before that don’t have a club that were either crap the first time round or caused issues in the dressing room.

Have we really fallen that far? Utterly depressing.
