Transfer news
Box to box midfielder who's been club to club too ! There are 10 listed in that piece ! Interesting where this fits in with Coker, Husin, Morton, Miley and KAF already here. Not everyone is going to be happy.
I think he may be more of a long term project as Slough are part time and it will take him some time to get up to speed with us.

Slightly off topic so this post does not require a response please .............

We have seen the same with a number of players coming from the lower leagues - don't they need game time to get up & running?

Which brings up the question of how does he (Parillon) and the club do that? Get up to speed that is when we have no B or reserve team and very rarely have a "behind closed doors" game. [shoulder shrug]

Not a criticism - just an observation.

Physically it's a huge step up into full time training. I remember watching a video that the club put up of pre-season training during the summer of 2022. Gus had just joined and he was lagging behind in all of the running sessions and looked knackered.

We've also read comments from Danny Waldron on how much he's struggled to adapt when first joining. He said that he felt tired going into games which meant he couldn't run at his usual pace.

Leon Chambers Parillon would have been full-time at Oxford so it won’t be completely new to him.

It is a massive step up physically. Even experienced full time players show how hard it is in preseason when it's not uncommon to be sick a few times and pick up niggles being pushed harder even when relatively used to it. It's the same for the step up, except they're not used to it mentally or physically. The strain on muscles and joints after the first few weeks catches up and fatigue hits leading to hamstrings tears etc. It can take a season to get anywhere near used to it.
The other big step up is the first touch (or lack of it) in the league's below. I believe this (and composure under match pressure) is where Waldron and wood struggle and haven't really overcome it adequately.
I think getting goodliffe hopper bonne in will help with the new younger lower league arrivals who will watch and !earn so much.
