Transfer Embargo, Winding Up Petition & Staff Salary Issues

And while staff and players are not being paid or paid late,is Mr Martin still taking his £350,000 per year consultancy fee?

Now you're straying into a whole different area and are effectively saying, "Why isn't lower level football sustainable as a business model?"

And when I say lower level, I mean Championship down.

In my opinion, there is plenty of money in the game and so much of it goes on players wages at the top level and agents.

If the Premier League wanted to, then they could ensure that sufficient funds were fed down the leagues so all the clubs were kept afloat at all levels. After all, they are only at the top of the pyramid because there is a pyramid!

But as i say, that's another issue.
Are you saying trickle down economics doesn't work?

Can't even use the GPS vests as the bill hasn't been paid to the supplier. Absolute shambles.
That's been the case for quite a while now. Along with stopping players nutritional food (ie pasta chicken etc on the coach back from away matches or after the game and training at home), plus no player insurance because it's not mandatory in the NL. Cut backs on getting scans investigations quickly as the club don't have enough funds. On top of that asking senior players to defer their pay just days before some matches so the game can be put on (paying match day staffing costs)..
This highlights just how good the recent playing results have been. With all that going on in the background.
Tom has to seriously juggle what can get paid with what's made available. He's done amazingly to keep things going. Luckily as a historic true sufc fan he does it passionately the best he can.

Christ. As you say amazing professionalism from the football side.

Wasn't the team coach to Barnet also paid for by a member of staff out of their own pocket?

Whole thing’s being held together with sellotape. How anyone can criticise KM or anyone on the football side given all this, is beyond me.

To be fair, sometimes the issue with medical investigations treatment and stuff is due to specialists refusing to deal with southend without being paid up front due to not receiving payment. There's been examples of player paying out of his own pocket for ongoing treatment and then having to try and get it back from the club\ron.I
it's good that the current success on the pitch and style we are playing makes going a positive fun experience. If we were languishing near the bottom the atmosphere could get awful.
good to have a positive side to see on match days and hopefully this loan gets sorted quickly

Oooops ! Apologies the consultancy fee for 2019 accounts was only £300,000!
I wonder how many other National league club chairman are taking a cool £300,000 per year?
Also where is the DD from the Shrimpers Trust?

Can any legal bod tell us what RM would have to provide to get an adjournment? Is it proof of funds coming or in the pipeline or can he just BS his way out of it?

Whilst we are flying high on the pitch, surely this is the time to hold Mr Martin to account.
